Whoscored sometimes has a weird way of calculating individual scores that contradicts with your common impression. In my opinion both Costa and Mueller were much better than him. I just didn't notice much of him playing.

It was not the typical game for Thiago to shine but I think he did fine in another role having a lot tackles and interceptions (that is why he got good points in Whoscored). There will be other matches against other opponents in which we will play more through the center in which he can shine.
Costa and Müller really started great into the season. I think that especially Müller has missed Ribery a lot - last season he had to play much more the assistant as all of the other offensives are much more finishers than creators. You see that with his goals - he had 4 goals from out of the box and a lot of "pretty" goals, penalties - but nearly no "instinct" or easy goals.

They're an average team that overperformed for a couple of seasons. They should have improved their squad every season so that when the moment comes that they start playing to their actual abilities, they're able to cope. But they didn't even adequately replace the players who left. Look at their squad... they don't belong anywhere near the CL.
