Bayern scoring 5 after Alcuntara has been subbed out. No coincidence here. :coffee:

Poor game from him again. When he is pressed like tonight he is useless. I remember a few similar games he had under Barca shirt, lost tons of balls that lead to goals or serious threats. For me Rafinha is better for Barca system, phylosophy and game plan of today.

Crucial away game for BVB tomorrow against Hoffenheim. If BVB drops points there, the race to the title is pretty much over as Bayern will just extend its lead.

Pep changed the system. From a 4-3-3 of the first half into a 4-2-3-1 in the second half. Martinez came for Bernat - and from then on the long balls of Wolfsburg were on his head and not with Dost as he won all his headers... (Alaba back as left fullback) and Lewy came for Thiago. Three of the goals then came from long flat passes from the back (Boateng, Martinez) to Müller who then distributed - one as a long header from Costa directly to Lewy, the other one with a run from Costa and Alaba on the left wing. Pep needed the second striker (or half striker or whatever Müller is) in that match so one of Vidal and Thiago had to go. And it was not a match in which Thiago can show his strengths.

One and a half years ago we had a similar match against Wolfsburg - even with Robbery and Müller playing fulltime - but without real striker until minute 60. It was 1:1 until then but looked similar. Wolfsburg was playing great and Bayern had problems with the build up. Thiago came in for Kroos, Mandzukic for Shaqiri, some minutes later Martinez for Lahm. At that time we needed 17 minutes from 1:1 to 6:1 - and Thiago was the one that played the assist for Müller with a through ball who gave him a run alone at the keeper.

1:1

No. I expect them to stay close for awhile. But that means that they have to win against Darmstadt on the weekend. Sounds easy. The Sunday after that they play in Munich.

Dortmund were denied a clear penalty after a handball from Toljan yesterday. Shame that Bayern are gifted penalties whenever they need them, while with Dortmund it's the opposite. The situation is actually somehow similar to the one we've got in Spain with Barca and Real. Unfortunately, Dortmund couldn't even fluke a last minute victory like some other teams.

Title race over. It was nice while it lasted.

The problem in Germany is that the media blows up every bad decision in favour of Bayern - that sells - but does not even talk a second about the ones that Bayern gets denied of. That is the thing that sells best.

At others it seems to be different. No talk about that clear Vargas onside but about the handball they got denied...

Fair enough, but it goes both ways. For instance, nobody talks about Neuer's challenge against Wolfsburg either, which was a clear red. Who knows whether the Lewandowski show would've happened then.

And I think it's perfectly right that the media blows up when a decision like the one against Augsburg happens. I don't remember Bayern getting denied or their opposition getting decisions in similar fashion.

The BVB game in the Pokal semi-final last season.

Utter horseshit, and you know it. Just look at the past 5 years or so of wahretabelle and even you will come to realize it.

How was that a clear red? Because he's a goalie? When an outfield player does such a tackle, it is yellow at best.

A clear red when the opponent played on and was not denied a clear goal scoring chance? We can talk about yellow.

I do know why you might not remember so many of the denied decisions - like I told, they aren't made a big topic normally. And when Bayern wins a game by one or two goals there is no discussion that they might have been denied stuff.

Rode was denied a clear penalty in the Darmstadt match. Bayern won 3:0. Not all of the highlight shows showed the scene... If it would have happened on the other side of the pitch...

There were 2 or 3 as bad decisions as the Bayern penalty against Augsburg the same weekend. But - it is Bayern - and as about all football fans in Germany either love or hate the club it is interesting...

And if we talk about the ability of Dortmund to turn matches... Hoffenheim vs Dortmund was 14 to 10 shots - Bayern vs Augsburg was 27 to 4...

I don't even know why Bayern fans have the need to justify themselves anytime a critical word is spoken. One bad word and I have several Bayern fans jumping at me. Is there an English phrase for "Getroffene Hunde bellen" ?

I'm yet to see an outfield player doing a late running (jumping rather) challenge towards a player at full speed, studs up, off the ground and get away like that. Referees aren't simply used to goalkeepers challenging and as such don't give out cards as easily. Very reckless challenge.

horseshit is a whole different ball game than justified critique. If your claims would hold any water at all, you would not see such responses.
