6racies Xavi
Can't even accuse Bayern that they were trying to humiliate Barcelona , they weren't even playing at 40% percent of their capacity

Ask yourself this: Is out quality of players truly less than Mainz?

At worst, about even.

Then, the problem becomes conditioning and mentality. This is why we need to rid the mentally damaged/scarred players. Until Xavi makes changes with all of Busquets, Alba, Pique, Lenglet, MATS, Roberto gone, we will be stuck in the same time loop.

Yea, but a team is usually as bad as its worst 2-3 players.

A team of 11 decent players would beat the crap out of a team of 2 superb players and 9 crap ones.

Yeah and as long as the crap players playing in our team the not-crap (good) players cant shine. You need to be an absolute beast tier level player to shine on a regular basis even if your team plays crap week after week.

IMO, if you have a crap team, you need to be either a no10, a GK, or a forward to really be able to make a difference. Basically, a position that is very individualistic by nature and involves minimum dependency on teammates, as much as that can be possible in a team game.

A defender can also shine, i wouldn't make it dependent on the position.

Dortmund drop points immediately, just not a credible rival, even though they play some good attacking football.

Mainz ran more than 120 km yesterday - and had more speed in that than Bayern had. It are the physical attributes that are Barcelona's problem first. Mainz was very well prepared tactically and has a very good organisation - and knew everything about Bayern's movement and were good in the duels. So yes, it was a lot harder for Bayern against Mainz than against Barcelona. And it is not about the quality of players - but even good players have to know that it is not just about the technical side.

Problem for the top teams always is that they can only do regeneration and short preparations between the matches - whereas the other teams have the whole week to prefer themselves.
