Busquets replacement

Stop typing names that ain't coming.

in the short-term it will be aMrabat as a stop gap solution, with Xavi trying both Eric (immediately), Diaz(through Barca B) and Nico (later) in that position seeing if they have it to develop into the complete pivot package

if not, and when Amrabat leaves in 2-3 years, we will go for a top (pending on finances) transfer there

Don't think butchers like Amrabat are the answer. We need players that can read the game and make a pass.

Don't think a similar talent can be found in another academy so we'll have to wait until La Masia produces another.

Amrabat would be terrible indeed...

A midfielder that allows us to get the best out of Frenkie imo. The keys to the midfield are his now and should be built around him.

The golden retriever can't control games in his own though. He is best when given license to roam.

You might be waiting 40 years then.

Anyway Zubimendi fits your description.

So we have no money right? Can we even sign a free agent?

Is Jefferson Lerma the best free agent option if we can sign a player? Never heard of this dude but looks like he was a pretty expensive signing for Bournemouth back in 2018?

Eric Garcia?

Should we really be allowing Xavi and his brother to spend more money that we do not have?

He already has a squad good enough to challenge for the champion’s league. Yes, if fucking Inter can do it, so can we. But not under Xavi.

So let him complete his last year in his contract with this squad, and replace him with someone who is proven.

No need to spend a fortune on machinery for someone who does not know how to operate it.

Think we will try to get a cheap option like Amrabat, who can do the basics of the job, get Gundogan who can allow Frenkie to play more DM (as Gundogan provides depth for his position), try Eric for some games there, and sign a youngester like Diaz and hope he surprises.

It isn't going to be ideal, but will allow us to cover for the position the same way we did this year at RB

Would also consider Paredes on loan as a short stop gap seeing how PSG don't want him on the team for whatever reason.

I would be surprised if we got rid of Fati.
But it we get neves, he may become a surprisingly good stop gap

Seems that the U20 Argentina squad is full of pivots.

Redondo mentioned above, then there is Perrone who Man City signed, and also Mateo Tanlongo who Sporting Lisbon signed on a free in January.

We're in dire need of a future DMC more than anyone, so hopefully what they see in Fabricio Diaz ends up being better than all of these.
