First good game played in a while, not as dominant as the score indicates but clinical and that's what's needed. Have to give Almeyda credit for starting Luna and a young defense.

Were they playing long ball or something in the first half, or just unnecessarily clearing the ball? That was pretty annoying considering the fact that most of those long balls went straight for the Keeper or just giving Arsenal goal kicks.

Well the team has had no ideas, which has been a problem for weeks now. They picked it up in the second half at least, and hopefully Funes Mori can find form again.

The best performance of the year that's for sure.

River got two early goals (the first one simply being an excellent goal and Ponzio's being a nice bit of opportunism). After that Godoy was deflated and never able to get back into it.

The way River is playing right now they aren't shutting out the opposition but they are unrelenting. It's the most energetic and dedicated attacking I've seen from them in a long time. I'm still not 100% convinced this will last but this team believes in itself the way River has not in a while, perhaps when the players said a few days ago they were fully behind Almeyda they believed it.

Best of all they didn't stop even at the end, Almeyda made a statement himself by making completely attacking subs.

I know better than to count the bosta out but with them in freefall and River putting together the most back to back goals in two performances since the 70s, the Superclasico couldn't have come at a better time.
