All big clubs buy a grass football field from the Netherlands nowadays. It costs them a day to lay the field. Madrid did it like 5 times in the last season, because their grass didn't grew in their new fancy underground facility. Believe me, the grass is the smallest problem. It'll take a day to have a field ready to play on.
It could still fail and turn it into San Siro level pitch. Levels of degradation in cool temperatures is matter of days.

Grass is the least important thing, they said they have been working on the inside to make it comfortable for when fans return.

Once the field is level, they could lay the grass in one week and keep doing some whenever needed.

It's still a work in progress.

I agree grass is the least of the problems. Grass is pregrown and comes ready to be installed in roles. The main problem is that the surroundings of the entry points look very unsafe as the entire area is crammed with heavy machinery and metal parts.

I'm with Jamrock. We all knew it wouldn't be ready when it was announced.

The point of the very public and deliberate announced return date was to put public pressure on Limak to construct as fast as possible.

The problem is that they included that we will return to CN in the financial plan. We are probably fucked if we don't.

I'm an agronomist and we are nearly in December. Not a patch of grass has been laid down, there are still cranes midfield and there's no soil, only mud and rocks. No way they pull out a miracle to have Xavi's preffered grass height and density of Camp Nou by February. Unless they import it from outside farm. In natural environment grass grows at slow rate, temperatures between 13-20 degrees and Catalonian winters as mild as they are, they are still below the threshold. I'm no expert in the following thing - I know every big stadium club utilize artificial lights to stimulate photosynthesis to keep the grass in condition, but heating up the soil for the seed to grow is different thing.

I'll gladly take the big L for this comment, but IMO summer of 2025 is the earliest Camp Nou will be ready for football.

With FIFA choosing MetLife because despite Many many things, it's the best stadium in the states to host the Final, one can hope they do so again in 2030, choose the stadium base on what's best for the actual game.

But if the Spanish FC or Govt has anything to say about it, no chance we get the final.
