I don't think it would be a bad season for us even if we lose out on the CL, as long as we get the double. I just hope we make a better account of ourselves before going out (if we do)

It would be better than last year, that's for sure. However, for this team, any season in which the CL is not won is an average season at best.
That said, I can see us pulling off the comeback, and even winning the CL afterwards. The comeback will be tough though, that's for sure.

To be classed as the best ever, this Barca side need to find a way of defeating these tactics. #InterChelseaCelticMilan

Here's my team for the return leg:

Valdes - Adriano - Pique - Mascherano - Jordi Alba
Busquets - Xavi - Iniesta
Messi - Villa - Pedro

We will need Tito there as well, coz Roura doesn't have a clue tactically.

Apparently he'll be back in April, so he'll miss the game. However it's been said that they're in permanent contact so Vilanova is pretty much still making the decisions and not Roura.

It's over. We've played Milan 5 times in the past 2 seasons and scored 3 goals in 450 minutes from open play. 1 of those goals only came because Milan was chasing the game and threw bodies forward. This is the Champions League, not La Liga were you can dick around playing with no strikers, no coach and 11 midfielders and still expect to walk over teams.

Let's concentrate on the important part of the season. We're playing Deportivo at home in 3 weeks. We'll need beast mode Messi for that. Hope he saved enough energy against Milan when he jogged 7.3 kilometers (LOL) in 95 minutes.

messi's ass needs to sit a game before milan if at all possible. haven't checked the schedule don't even know who we're playing but if it's a weak liga team then do it. can't stand this walking messi $hit. everyone is going to need to run around like their hair is on fire come 2nd leg.

Messi always had low distance coverage, It's nothing new.

This article was made in May 2011, Even though the UEFA coverage distance link is dead, It's mentioned that he was averaging between 6 and 7 km.

I never pay attention to Messi's distance stats. He will look active only when the players pass the ball to him in good positions. What Barca should be worried more about is the atrocious movement around Messi rather than his own. Pedro, Iniesta and Cesc (who is usually good at this) were all terrible. Alba and Alves, who can sometimes make great runs inside were unsuccessful as well. Pique, Xavi and Busquets and their occasional forward runs were also missing. One possible reason is how well Milan pressed but Barca do need to take it into account.

If the other players take up good positions, Messi will automatically get the ball in better situations

I honestly couldn't believe some (actually a lot) made Messi the scapegoat of this performance when there were so many things wrong around him. Milan looked dangerous with every attack rofl. That's just nuts. There's no way any team will win a Champions League with that kind of space available.

We have a shit defence. We concede too many goals. Our attack is ok, so is our midfield. We have a serious problem in our defence. Puyol is getting old and Alves isn't showing up. And well, Valdes is just being Valdes, nothing new there.

Our attack and midfield (especially our midfield) are the best in the world. They will need to show that in the 2nd leg. And yes the defense could be a problem.

I voted no on the poll. I just don't see a comeback happening. Milan had a brilliant game cuz of their coach. Even a great team like Barca needs a coach. We don't have one atm. I like Roura, but not as a head coach.

I can see us pulling off the comeback, but we will need to step up our game big time. We were awful on Wednesday. Step. It. Up. If we do, I can see us pulling it off, especially if we're good with finishing our chances.

Btw, what was the lineup we used in Camp Nou against Milan and Chelsea last season? We would have demolished Chelsea with better finishing.

if barca doesnt change their plans for this play (Inter,Chelsea and Milan now)and dont find a solution how to break theses teams that they play total defense and counter attack then big NO.We cant continue with this plan anymore possesion pass pass pass and nothing..We dont have a stable defense,Dani alves seems to me that hes gone,he wont find his olf self and he is also worse in defense that he was in previous years. And also the second big problem is attack. Messi Iniesta Pedro is not a dangerous trio.Messi is most times isolated as usual and noone of Iniesta and Pedro cant bring goals. Its time for Villa to start ....or else we should bring a forward and for me excuses like ''he wont be playing good in the wing and we will change Messi's position, and we have Messi to score goals'' arent serious anymore
