66 in June (I could have sworn he was born in 1958, but wiki says 1959) so he hasn't got long left before retirement. I'd say he has another 7 or 8 years before he leaves the game as a coach.

He's achieved a lot, even if he was more about evolution than revolution. He wasn't a pioneer really like Pep is, but he can be extremely happy with his managerial career and what he has won.

Crazy actually to think Hansi is only 5 years younger.

Hansi looks good for age.

Valverde would not be at RB if he was helping solve the midfield issue of all season. With and wihout him in there.

He has been nowhere near as good so far as some Real fans make out and never really has been in centre midfield the season before really either. Has had his best seasons for Real with freedom to pull wider or an outright RW some of the time.

A bit like Steven Gerrard.. not quite as good but neither were players that could control a midfield and needed more freedom to go and impact games in other areas.

Hasnt been their best midfielder this season anyway. Bellingham has been.

Not sure about Valverde, though I think you are likely right, but spot on about Gerrard. He wasn't a controller and was better attacking the box or doing his Stevie Me one man solo act. He was never like a Xavi or Modric.

One thing i would say he took an L for is he could have just played Valverde in Midfield, like i said in the other chat and go with Vasquez at RB.

Have to play your best players in optimal positions in these high profile games

He does have options.

Asencio has played minutes and done well enough as a defensive RB as he has that pace.

Could do that and play Valverde in midfield.. and probably would if Valverde had made himself unmovable from there but he hasnt. The midfield looks poor with him also this season as lacks balance.
