u wot m8?

It's one thing to support Barca, it's another to be completely delusional.

The CL is the biggest stage in club football when it comes down to it, the cold truth is that in this year's campaign Ronaldo will be acknowledged for breaking the CL scoring record while scoring on massive stages such as in the demolition of Bayern. Leo is going to be acknowledged for walking around the pitch while his team got pummelled.

If Ronaldo goes on to win the CL, it's not going to be debatable anymore.

Like the other poster said, Leo let Ronaldo have the glory because he hasn't played to his potential while Ronaldo has.

Oh please go and join ad Madrid forum and kiss his a**. Ronaldo is in the perfect team and environment. Madrid play to his strengths and suit him down to a tee. Messi is playign under a manager who has us crossing the ball like a David Moyes team. Yes he's having a better season than Messi, but it doesn't make him a better player.

Also when did we get pummellled?

Real had a great game hands down and while Ronaldo is having a good CL tournament and Messi off his best this season, I still think Messi historically will be remembered as the best player. Also WC can change many things around. The battle of the best continues as more exciting chapters will be written.

Congrats to Beast and all Madridistas, your team made you proud today.

Give Real credit. They bought a proven manager who suits their style and a star player who suits it too. If they play Chelsea I will root for them. They also havent been fouling & kicking like under Mourinho.

But they still dive and simulate better than anybody.

Seriously, there is only one thing Ronaldo does better (or is doing better currently) than Messi: His drive, which converts into his high work rate, him running tirelessly whenever RM is in offense. It is highly commendable, and football fans appreciate that. Other than that, not so much.

Let's face it, people are saying Messi has been bad, worse than Ronaldo etc. mostly because he was not able to change the outcome of this gloomy and disappointing season by himself. Being the best player we have, Messi shoulders a lot of expectations and responsibilities, both realistic and not. When we are having a trophy-less season, the worst season in many years, people naturally are placing a lot of the blame on Messi. The focus has been centered on his perceived laziness, i.e. his lack of workrate, effort, movement etc., which I completely understand, actually it is a sentiment that I share. However, allow me to play devil's advocate and ask this question: If we had beaten Atletico to advance to the CL semi-finals, and if the La Liga title was still within our reach, with everything else being equal and not changed (meaning Messi is still being "lazy" but scores often like he does), and if RM had been eliminated from the CL, would people be saying that Ronaldo is a lot better than Messi these days?

Again, other than running tirelessly and a much higher workrate, I don't see how Ronaldo is doing better than Messi. They are both scoring a lot of goals. Both had poor games where they scored but nothing much other than that, and Ronaldo more often than Messi in this regard.

If some of those same scoring attempts from Messi and our team that have been blocked or saved had converted into goals, we probably would be having a different discussion right now. Sometimes it is down to luck and accidental factors. If only that shot went in. If Neymar, Pedro or Alexis had carried us through CL semi-finals, if we are still in the race, and if Messi scores some tap-ins or easy goals, would people be calling Messi better than Ronaldo?

I guess what I am trying to say is, there is really not much difference between the performance of Messi and Ronaldo lately. The fact that RM had advanced while we got eliminated, and RM is doing much better than us result-wise had a lot to do with people's assessment that Ronaldo is doing much better than Messi at the moment.

Messi has been a shadow of what he used to be this season. Not saying he can't become good again, but he hasn't been there.

You can blame the manager, team, environment all you want. But in the end it's performances on the big stage that get you recognition as the best, and when you are walking around the pitch in contrast to destroying the current European champions, it shows you are off your game. Messi isn't the best at the moment. The fact that you are trying to justify that Leo is always better than Ronaldo is laughable when you look at how this season has gone for Leo. Barca needs change, and how Leo has dropped is a testament to that.

Oh and perhaps your memory is too vague to remember how we were completely outclassed by Atletico in the CL. You do remember it don't you? Being shell shocked by Atletico's immense pressing, never getting into the game, having basically no attempts and being saved from humiliation because Atletico hit the left and right posts as well as a crossbar?

You do remember that don't you? ;)

The main reason i'd pefer Chelsea over Real is you'd have to Admit Real are the Best team but everyone knows chelsea aren't so you can argue who you want.

How would you describe what Del Bosque does with the National team. Some will be thinking Del Bosque's team does lots of passing so is he going to fail at the world Cup

Del Bosque side does a little less pass and they hold less possession. Also they're defence is better and more tactically prepared.
