We sure can beat them, especially over two legs. But I have to say the manner in which we beat them this season was not convincing enough for me (I like last season's game at Bernabeu much better).

Let's beat Chelsea first.

It's all about mentality. Against PSG Real weren't for sure the better team yet they won 3-1.

I agree. While we won 3-0, It was hardly game we won clearly 3-0. It was close game and we happened to score the first goal. Real is never easy opponent. Our tie would be always close.

and vs Barca they will always bring their A-game.

Fatigue is only part of the reasons why we had rather poor results recently. Look, even when the season just started last August and September we looked pretty bad. It has more to do with Valverde's tactics than fatigue.

Anyways, no serious team will throw away the domestic cup. Did you see how frantically Real Madrid attacked at Leganes toward the end of that game? Of course they wanted the CdR just like everyone else.

And each season they lose to teams like Leganes over 2 matches and trash teams like Psg and Bayern?

Yeah, nothing suspicious about it, mate...

Real are favourites , won last 2 and 3 of last 4. They have to be.

I'm curious , if they played Man City.. would Real dominate in midfield? with Kroos, Modric, Casemiro vs De Bruyne, Silva, Fernandinho.. probably.

also, it's not a coincidence this was the first world class/ world class + tier game that marcelo has had since the CL final. most of madrid live for these CL knockouts. it used to be barca that did but our team has gotten complacent outside of the 14-15 MSN year.

Real keep surprising me. I must say they have such a psychological advantage in the CL plus they are very strong mentally in that competition. It's like they know how to take full advantage when the momentum shifts their way.

At this point I only believe we can beat them. If they get Bayern or City in the next round, they are through.

They are on a good run, but it will end soon. Not even this tie is done, no matter how much fun we make of PSG.

It was 3-1 not 2-1. It's over. How often teams come back from this? Not often.

LMAO all the time, every season and every year. It's 2 damn goals and we're talking about PSG at home, not away.

1) Atleti pulled back 2 goals in the space of 5 mins and only Benzema's one-off run killed their momentum while they were well on their way to score the third.
2) Bayern pulled back 2 goals to send it to extra time and they did it at Bernabeu.
3) Monaco was 2 goals down after 1st leg to City and pulled it back.

And that's just last season, haha.

Atletico and Bayern's mental strength cannot be compared to whatever is running in Paris.

Not to be taken lightly. Have a Dortmund 2013 vibe with them. Look so energetic and fast in transition, with so many skilled players, that they can bust up anyone on their day.

That's a good comparison.

Liverpool don't have the most spectacular defence or midfield, but they do their best work when teams attack them because they'e so fast in transition and great at combination play. Just so rapid forward.

Mane - Firmino - Salah on the counter is deadly.

QSG don't have the mentality to pull off a comeback. Look at how they just gave up at 2-1. The tie is over.

And what on earth would you do if the other team scored after yours dominated the opponents for 30 minutes straight and were knocking on the door? 2 freak goals didn't kill the tie, they just gave us the advantage.

Seriously, we're talking about a team who until that moment looked super solid, had good looks, scored an away goal and completely looked the part. Giving the ball to Neymar was logical, because he was unstoppable 1 on 1 but got selfish and let the tactical fouling get to his head. Otherwise gameplan was very good. Even moving Alves to midfield wasn't a terrible decision since Cavani was invisible. Y'all are treating this exactly like the bottlejob at Camp Nou which this was so so so far from the same thing.

I mean, what's so special about Bayern's mental strength again? This wasn't Heynckes' team.
