Chelski are awful, just keep the ball and they wont even press, just look at the City game.

They will play a lot better in CL. Lost 0-3 to Bournemouth, that didn't stop them from playing a pretty damn good game, with only 1 defensive error the whole game vs Barca. They won the CL by ending 6th in PL before, proving that on the night effort and inspiration trumps overall season consistency in CL.

Not really, we just suck in the CL. Also Valverde keeps making stupid decisions and will probably start Gomes and Paulinho. We should be beating them easily.

Like I said, Madrid gets them and it's 10-0 on aggregate, no questions asked.

How long has it been since Madrid got knocked out in the 16th final? No reason to immediately think they'll win it.

I think people are panicking because with their proverbial luck at draws, they'll draw Roma/Shakhtar in the QF, after all, they did play APOEL, Galatasaray, and Wolfsburg in this phase.

Holy shit, PSG reinvented football with their 4-1-1-1-1-1-1 tactic.

Give me Real Madrid with the first leg at the Bernaleo in the next round, please. It’s like they say, if you want something done you got to do it yourself. I’m done with hoping for other teams to eliminate them at this point.

Sigh. Bayern, Atletico, Dortmund and Spurs. Proverbially lucky.

Spurs were weak back then (you beat them 4-0 ffs). So were Dortmund with all their injuries. Atletico and Bayern were tough draws I agree. 2/8 or so. Half of the draws were piss easy.

We haven't drawn an opponent like Wolfsburg in QF since Shakhtar in 2011.

Tbf, you got PSG last year, basically the same thing.

So petty. Discounting Dortmund based off THREE injuries (Lewa, Hummels, Schmelzer) while they had everybody else.. I assume we're naturally ignoring the status of perennial European losers like Arsenal or PSG who you played fuck knows how many times since 2010 at any stage? Unless of course we are under the convenient assumption it's all relative and that drawing average or perennial loser teams is considered so much tougher than Spurs or handicapped Dortmund. Because PSG will give you a game! Lol.

Yea, for me our game is aesthetically superior. Actually that would be Barcelona's place in world football, the no1 edge that we have over all other teams. Our way of playing is our biggest brand. That is great influence over football, to have a world famous way of playing that others are trying to copy.

We're not as big as Madrid trophy-wise (doubt we'll ever be), and our biggest asset is not the number of titles we win, but how we play. Which is why I don't agree that everything should be sacrificed in order to stop Madrid from winning I don't know what, because we're different than Madrid and we should not try to copy them. The moment we'll lose what people still perceive as the Barca style, we'll lose our greatest asset imo.

I don't think Barca are playing the most aesthetically superior football in Europe since the beginning of Tata's season (that's 5 years in total) besides a few spells in second half 14/15 and first half 15/16. City have been far superior aesthetically to Barca this season, and Napoli are up there too over the past couple of seasons.

Barca peaked in aesthetics under Ronaldinho and Pep, otherwise there have been other teams who have matched and/or been superior since the turn of the millenium (I've no clue about teams before that).

Also btw, with Messi you can make (and have been making) strong inroads on RM's La Liga trophy haul. CL though is a long way away and RM are the undisputed kings of that competition.

Yea, and because we seek both this stylistical (how) and pragmatical (what) excellence, both simultaneously, we win less than Madrid overall, but when we win, they are just better more memorable footballing displays.

For me, a great degree of satisfaction comes from how you win. Not all wins are the same, and if we are to win the CL by luck, or by playing for draws or basically showing no desire to play attacking football, it would absolutely not feel the same.

So if Rm win another 10 cl and we win 2 a esthetically you will be happy?

We have an exhausted team and our important players were overplayed. We'll probably have more injuries by next round. Fatigue will be our downfall in the Champions League.
