Think about this: Real Madrid already has what, 12 CL trophies compared to our 5, with or without this 3-consecutive CL run in the past three years they are still the most prestigious football club in Europe if not the world and they are definitely the most successful football club in the 20th century. Meanwhile, we got a few CLs this century and we still have a lot of time left to compete with Real Madrid and other elite clubs in Europe if we don’t screw up. So what they have more CL trophies? It is nothing more than bragging rights between fans.

As to Messi vs. Ronaldo, it doesn’t really matter who has more BDs or trophies, there will always be a debate so the narrative has not really changed.

Honestly, the cup and league is a bigger achievement than the CL. It's pathetic that Real Madrid are part of 3 competitions every year, but the only one that matters to people is the CL. It's a cup competition, it's far from perfect. You can fluke it like Chelsea in 2012 etc. If you win the CL and not the league, you're not really best in your own country even. Barca won the league + CL together every time, something Real only did 3 out of 12 times.
