we need to bring in a world class proven manager if we want to get anywhere in the CL. pointless discussion though as EV is here to stay

Would help if the manager was a leader, but we're stuck with Ernesto who's biggest achievement is winning the Spanish Supercopa against us.

Not a club legend either, nor very charismatic.

I backed him the entire season, even after the iffy chelsea tie. But that Roma game he should of started packing his bags. A gomes sub in the 80th minute after going down 3-0? It had to had been a joke. Unbelievable. Guess what tho he'll be here next season.

I don't have a good feeling about the next season with him as our manager too, even though we'll make some signings this summer. I really hope he'll prove me wrong by winning at least the CL, although i doubt it. Anyway, time will tell if keeping him was the right decision or not.

We should be better than this one. Coutinho is a great adition, and Dembele will be fit and integrated. If we get Griezmann and Arthur the improvements are even more visible. Alena will be part of the first team and he's also a player who could develop nicely. Let's hope we get rid of some players so that Valverde won't have some of his 'genius' ideas.

In fact, those additions make it even more difficult for Valverde, as he will feel forced to play players who earn a truckload of money, regardless of the effect on team performance. Will Valverde bench a bunch of superstars in order to make the team more balanced?

Eventually we're heading towards a path with 2 bad roads, and 2 good roads.

1st good road would be that Valverde realises what he did wrong, starts getting the right decisions and man management selections and our performances get better in CL tenfold.
2nd good road is that the players have a reaction after another CL fuck up and we bounce back.

1st bad road is that nothing changes, and history repeats itself next season, with worse results. Don't think Madrid will have such a shit season in Spain. They already got bored of the CL and probably want to win La Liga again, possibly even more than CL.

2nd bad road is that Valverde is going to take some decisions with the new additions, but they turn out to be shit ones. Like forcing players on weaker positions as to keep as many of them happy, because there's no way everybody will get to play with that many attacking players available.

Just realized next year's CL final is at Wanda Metropolitano.

4th in a row then.

Didn't we win 5-0 there a few weeks ago? Next year CL is ours. Preferably as part of a double. Griezmann coming is a sign. He'll score in the final.

Perhaps we'll win the next CDR final there, but not the CL with the handicaps we have.

Look at the bright side.

Valverde and his Mourinho impression was like a kid who never knew what fire was until he put his hand in it and got burned. Doing it again would be unlikely, even for Valverde.

If he gets burned again he'll be fine and get a job at Olympiacos again or something. Lead them to a few league titles and 4th place group finish in the CL if they qualify. It's Barca who will be the biggest losers in this.

In this case hire managers who clearly have set principles about what football they want to play, not dudes who go flippy floppy at 180 degrees on a week by week basis.

I fear we're going to do the same shit by hiring Koeman or Gio or Cocu. Next manager need to be World Class or at least proven at a high level + have a clear plan and vision

So Barto will be like: It's Unzue's time

Yeah, Benzema was gifted for those two goals but he showed hunger and anticipation. Which he didn't do in the past against Milan e.g.

Yup, all talking about Karius performance and RM being lucky again but ignoring the effort and intensity Benzema putting, Real players are good at punishing opponent's mistakes ( at least they keep doing it in CL ) to put pressure on opponent and take advantage of those potential blow-ups and it pays off. We've seen some of those in this season ( Chelsea/Roma first tie and all o.g throughout the season ) but due to whatever reason we seem to can't keep it up later in cl k.o matches.

(Pretending that Salah's injury was an accident, and nothing to do with Ramos' maliciousness,) the final was an epitomy of what we saw through the whole season, and in general of how this version of RM have managed to pave their way to glory:

- Injuries spreading on the opponent's best players like the runes carved into gravestones by the forbidden arts' foretold.
- Goals are being handed to them like in a youth academy's elementary training sessions.
- Wonder-goals that materialize one in a 1000 times, all concurring together when they need them.
- Getting all key moments of luck in a game, that could normally go either way, in their favor.
- When the referees are needed, they will happily give a helping hand

With NOT EVEN the slightest sense of playing better than a team with 10 times worse squad!!

Think whatever you want. This is NOT a great side!! It will not even near the greatest sides of history of this game. It maybe the luckiest side of all times.
This RM side is the living proof that football is the sport in which success does not reflect quality!!
