So Klopp has Liverpool play in a lower gear, not commit everyone up top to press, because the prospect of Vini butchering them on the counter again scares the shit out of him
But that makes Liverpool toothless upfront. They might snatch a goal, but they can't sustain intense pressure on the opposition's box.

Makes you wonder at the same time, why he didn't adopt his more cautious approach after the 2-0 in the 1st leg

That’s true but it’s not just this season is it. Reality is Barca been pretty poor for 7 of the 8 last seasons in Europe.

There’s been some kind of humbling in each of them and it’s become too normal for the club.

We've stopped valuing Europe as a club. The management don't think it is important to beat the best anymore and will be satisfied if we win LaLiga most of the time regardless of how we do in Europe.

Xavi saying the fact we managed to 'compete' in CL groups and EL 32 was impressive put the cherry on the cake. European failures dont really register for those at the club anymore.

We are more than capable to compete in Europe both in terms of talent and tactics, but as long as that attitude continues we will not.
