If we had a proper coach, not aun amateur like Xavi we would probably be in In Inter's place.
The state of football is quite shocking when a mediocre Inter side like this can make the Cl final!!

Tired of RM still churning out wins in CL despite turgid play...but I honestly don't see how Inter can beat them if City fail to do the job at home.

A team like Inter is the kind of team RM tends to feast on (Juve, AM types).

Also, if Pep chokes this at home (unlikely, he is beast in CL at home), he really can't get it done without Messi, Xavi, Iniesta in Europe. I don't like reductionist takes, but after having strong squads for 10 years and failing repeatedly, it's tough to defend him in CL

Imagine a mediocre team making it to the CL final.

Not a very good team, not a good team, not even a solid one, a mediocre one.

Lol

Pretty mediocre or average team compared to others, but class manager.

At Barca the role is reversed tbh.

At least I'm not saying Franck Kessie is a better player than Frenkie de Jong though. Now that would be embarrassing I tell ya.

Ikr I wonder who said that?

Because I know I said de jong is a BETTER player, but kessie may understand the role Xavi wants him De jong to play better.

But when you listen to Jamdav you say dumb shit like Jamdav in an attempt to get an gotcha moment 😂😂.

But yea mediocre teams, makes it to the Cal final.

STUNNING

After telling us at every opportunity the CL is the biggest test in football, for a team to be considered good they have to do well there.

But mediocre.

Damn why so mad. Maybe don't say stuff like Kessie is better or could be better for Barca than Frenkie next time then.

At least you're not having a rant about father figures or some shit like that like you had a while back though.

What? You want me to be your father figure? I'm too young for that no kids yet.

Jamdav is more your daddy.

Just take the L on your idiotic comment and move on.

Mediocre Team made it to the CL final.

Only 1 good team is in the CL SF with Barca forum logic

Madrid lucky as shit
Inter lucky and shit.

Milan ( well they are actually pretty poor haha).

Inter isn't mediocre, they are a solid team, and tactically very well organised.

We have to take inspiration from that. If anything, the fact they look so good playing with guys like Dzeko, Darmian, Calhanoglu, Mkhyitarian just shows that you can make a lot work in the right setup.

We have people here who actually claim the likes of Pedri are not good enough for CL knockouts whilst that Inter team is making it to the finals.

We are more than good enough, we are better than them, and I'm convinced one of the only things holding us back is this bollocks quitter mentality (mainly from the club and fans) that whenever it comes to Europe we just have an inferior squad and can't do it. Bullshit. Xavi too is more than capable of competing with top coaches if he gets rid of his Euro mental block and excuse factor.

Jeez relax

No thanks it's not that serious anyway.

Why are you so mad?

I'll gladly take the L on Inter although I still don't believe they're a great team, but exceptionally managed it seems. Something Barca could use moving forward. Mediocre was probably too much, but just solid enough is fair. You want to tell me some of the guys they have are better than our team?

Would you take your L on all of your Frenkie takes though? Imagine being so sensitive that you either go on random rants or go on hours versus JamDav every other day just so you lot can one-up each other.

Next season is it for Xavi.

Not expecting to win the CL, but should be able to compete much better, especially if we're able to improve the squad this summer.

No more excuses. Another disastrous showing in Europe and he should be gone. Especially considering the amount of power he has on the sporting management side.

I see it completely the opposite.

Inter has the tactical setup to beat Madrid but they have something else too, a team which plays without fear and an extremely good cup manager. They have heart and grit as well as class and tactical strength.

Madrid aren't that good this season and tired of people acting like it's the same as their three peat years.

Let it be known - I pick Inter to win in an Inter Madrid final, book it!!

Madrid are not a great team, but they have enough individual quality to win as long as Courtois and their defence can hold on and keep them in a game.

We lack some of that IMO otherwise I suppose we could have been similar-ish this season. Doesn't help when our most dangerous forward keep getting injured every year there's important games to play.

Neither them nor us are good teams tactically.

I would really note something : generally, trends with managers as it refers to league play/knockout games tend to stay true over time and repeat themselves.

For example, Inzaghi despite only managing for a short times in his career has already won like 4 Italian cups and has an 80 percent win rate in cup games (Lazio and Inter). Now they make the CL final almost after 13 years not even passing the quarter finals. However, he has never been sensational in the league.

The exact opposite was mentioned here for Xavi at Al Sadd already. He was great in the Qatari league domestically and I believe dominated winning several titles, but disappointed in the Asian CL and got knocked out several times. He comes here and what do you know, we do amazing in the league and embarrassing in Europe.

Conte - Always been fantastic in leagues everywhere he's gone, always been awful in knockouts wherever he's gone.

Ancelotti - Always been a little questionable in leagues wherever he's gone, always been absolutely fantastic in knockouts.

Pep - Always been dominant in leagues everywhere, been a little questionable in Europe and away games, throughout his managing career.

I could go on..for some reason, they are trends that tend to follow managers around even with vastly different squads.

I don't think Xavi is any different. His profile and results up to now both at Al Sadd and Barca indicate he is a league specialist who is poor in knockouts.

He might follow that trend, but not sure he survives long here if he does given Real Madrid and possibly even Atletico would be much tougher competition in the league in the future compared to what someone like Conte had in his time at Juventus.

Would be terrible optics for the club if they become like Conte's Juve in Europe which is what it's looked like so far although probably not as bad I guess.

A much more reasonable take.

Pretty much agree with everything you said.

If anyone looks at this inter squad and thinks medicore, I don't know what to say about that.

In some positions they even have better "named" players on the bench than they do in their starting XI.

Today they had the likes of brozovic, lukaku, gosens and skriniar is injured I think.
Solid squad players like de Vrij and Correa.

but medicore lol.

They are a very well organized team, that plays a brand of football that's enjoyable to watch.

Barcelona definitely has a team that should be able to compete in Europe, it didn't happen this year, we just have to take that L, learn from it and move on, not try to shit on every other team that does well in Europe to make the failure look even worst lol.

Inter had a relatively "easy" passage to the SF, but I will never use that against them, because you can only beat who is in front of you and they did so whenever they needed to this season in the CL.
