Zidane and Ancelotti are very similar in their profile as managers. But Zidane has to prove it, like Ancelotti did, at more than one stacked team. Ancelotti made Milan one of the top 3 sides of Europe for like 4-5 years. From 2003 until 2007. 2 titles, 3 finals, 4 semis in 5 years.

It's not about voodoo lol. I understand using it as banter, but in any serious talk that shit is juvenile.
Why do you think they are similar?

Ancelotti is flexible, and pragmatic. Everyone with a brain plays a low block + quick counters tactical approach vs City with the team Madrid has.

Let's hope Xavi doesn't try to be a smart-ass and does the same tonight.
If you stop Mbappe from having space to run into behind the defense, he's like 30% the player.

I'm not worried about Dembele. It's a KO game; he'll shit himself as usual.

What ancelotti is doing what I personally think is fascinating to look at and you see it happen every time like clockwork, is that he lets madrid play in 4/5 phases where every time intensity and height of pressing gets increased and they start to play less deep. Usually every 20 min that pass. It disrupts opponents and catches them offguard. Also allows madrid to conserve stamina for later phase of game.

I wouldn't say 30% the player. He has explosion on small spaces too, can win the game anyhow imo. He's just more lethal when in space, so you can't play with a high line against him unless you can press like maniacs in attack and midfield. Which we simply can't do, considering we have some old legs in several positions.

Of course, we're not talking about parking the bus. You'll also have moments where you attack and press. But usually, when up against a top tier opponent, Ancelotti's teams don't look to dominate the ball or dictate the play. More reactive. Zidane is similar.

Might be right in case of city. they will go back to sitting back once they get the goal they need against them. But in la liga they don’t do that often. They allow opponent to come at them and the gradually dominate tire them out and smother them.

No top coach plays a low block these days against top teams. NO ONE
Even Simeone plays a mid block.
The fact that Ancelotti instructs a low block shows he does not know how to pressure properly higher

Honestly, there is so much personal projection from posters on Ancelotti on things they imagine he devised.
Things devised can be seen clearly, because they come in patterns
If what you see involves a lot of improvision and doesn't repeat itself, guess what: it is not planned

Not that impressed at all by the level both teams produced(real city)
Those little pockets of space they've been letting is absolutely disgraceful. Prime barca would absolutely murder both teams, comical. Old guard modric entered the game and bossed it right away.

To war tommorow, we might for real have a chance to fight in the final

Hope so.

I got a feeling that tomorrow we get a reality check and see that we are still levels away from the top tier. And PSG are at the fringes of that top tier but with the weapons to expose us.

As I said though, hope I'm wrong though and Xavi makes me look like the armchair football amateur that I am.

That doesn't look like a penalty, although the angles aren't very good. Completely different than the AWB vs Elliot situation though.

Here, Saka seems to purposefully go into the keeper without following the ball. He makes an extra step towards the keeper. In the case of Elliot, he can't follow the ball because the United player makes a stupid tackle, so he is effectively tripped. Here the keeper barely moves. Can't compare that with a sliding tackle.
