That doesn't look like a penalty, although the angles aren't very good. Completely different than the AWB vs Elliot situation though.

Here, Saka seems to purposefully go into the keeper without following the ball. He makes an extra step towards the keeper. In the case of Elliot, he can't follow the ball because the United player makes a stupid tackle, so he is effectively tripped. Here the keeper barely moves. Can't compare that with a sliding tackle.

It's exactly the same pattern with Elliot.
Elliot can very well follow the ball and change direction, but he opts to go for landing on the feet of AWB.
He isn't tripped, he trips himself on a feet that is on the ground.
Unacceptable that the ref bites there

Not the same. Saka makes an extra step. Bissaka takes Eliott down very fast. He doesn't even get to plant his leg to switch direction.

Of course you say it wasn't a pen, you saw a super-slow-motion in which half a second is shown in 5 seconds as if that has any meaning whatsoever .

Remember raphinha not penalty given we discussed? Where raphinha took extra step different from natural run behind ball to make contact with opponent? You said it was penalty

Raphinha vs Getafe I think. Remember it very well. Clear pen that one. Even Spanish ref on Marca said it at the time.

To each his own. For me, I made it very clear all the time that tripping an opponent is a pen. And any sliding tackle where you don't get the ball has very high chances of causing a pen by way of tripping the attacker in his normal chase of the ball.

It was Celta match.

Clear pen this one.

Why it's a pen. Celta player doesn't get near the ball and extends his leg in Raphinha's normal running path who is in chasing the ball. Contact is made, penalty for tripping. Any other interpretation of a duel like this is not following the rules.

How the fuck is that not a penalty lmao.. first angle is enough.. goalkeeper deliberately extended his leg

Edit : really tricky lmao ! Just noticed that both the keeper and saka had ill intentions hahahah

The angle is not good. You need an angle from the opposite side.

Raphina is not running normalmpath. Can be seen if you watch the whole thing. Send me link.

Btw saka wasnt penalty either

No, I saw it real time in w/o slow-motion and I thought from the very first moment that the ref messed up for calling this.

Same with Raphina dude

You have to understand: it's not about whether the defender slides or just extends a leg.
It's about who initiates the contact. The number one factor to determine whether to give any foul or not.
Slow-motion or real-time motion you can always tell who initiates it

Hope so.

I got a feeling that tomorrow we get a reality check and see that we are still levels away from the top tier. And PSG are at the fringes of that top tier but with the weapons to expose us.

As I said though, hope I'm wrong though and Xavi makes me look like the armchair football amateur that I am.
Maybe you're right, but still think we are far away from showing our true level and in this tie we might show that we aint fucking around. Raphinha lewa lamine attack have something that gave me belief that we are capable of taking the game to anyone. I believe that against qshit we might surprise everyone. Lets fucking go!

What do you mean he's not running normal path? You're joking  The defender's leg is so stretched out, it's cutting his ideal trajectory for the ball. Defender has no intention of playing the ball, clear penalty.
