Champions League Final 2009: FC Barcelona vs ManUtd: Champions of Europe!

Heath newton mentioned that the last time man utd were defeated in the CL was against milan in the 06/07 season. I remember the game but i dont remember the way milan played. What did milan do that game to beat man utd? Im sure pep will have watched that game a few times since he watched a few matches a day at least as manager of the club.

vidic wasn't fit, heinze played, and rio didn't (he didn't play at home either, my guess is if he did milan wouldn't have scored 5 times over the two legs).

ALSO

liverpool won the semi-final the day before, so the chance to avenge istanbul suddenly became a reality and rino went fucking batshit. no one could get near the milan area without him breathing down their necks. amazing performance.

so... the former weakness isn't really possible to replicate however busquets could do something similar to what rino did. not as well, obv., but his tenacity is why he'll be selected ahead of keita IMO.

What Meta said, Maz.

As for Busquets. If he attempts something similar to Gattuso's bullish game, he'll more than likely get sent off. Gattuso is a man of vast experience and even he can't help getting sent off due to his game, so in that sense, Biscuits would have no chance.

The team with the best hotel always loses...Manchester United have the best hotel....

We should have stayed in a B&B just to be safe.

Nice hotel....
I have a question:
Who will play instead of Abidal and Alves?

Noone knows yet. Yaya Toure looks certain to start as central defender again. So we have Pique, Puyol, and Toure at the back. We`ll have to see about the last spot.

In Lucho we trust!
The closer we get to the game the more I am convinced that we have to play our strongest midfield and that means Yaya at DM. If he doesn't then I expect Xavi to fill that role and Keita to play alongside Busquets, which looks and feels terrible. The reason I think Xavi will play a little deeper is because Pep know's in what high regard SAF has of him. He expects Xavi to be closely marshalled by Anderson and this way we can drag Anderson out of position, giving us a little bit more room further up the field. I can also see Busquets playing close to Giggs and that formation works in that regard.

I still don't feel very confident. Carceres has to play right back? He is quick enough and has done well recently.

I have a good feeling about this game... we're going to score first then Man U will open the game and we'll score another one then...we'll see Cristiano crying taking the losers medals and going to the changing room together with Giggs, don't know what will happen in there...but you can imagine.

Barça will win 8-0 with 79% possession over the 90 minutes. I said Eto'o would score 6 against Osasuna & I was right there, wasn't I? :nervous2:
