I walk the line
They just played "blaugrana al vent, un crit valent" on talksport. Gave me goose pimples.
Sid: pep has tried hard to talk down our chances. He said it was a privalige to come up against SAF. We are playing the best in the world but we will try to beat them. However when asked if it doesnt matter if we dont win pep says no way, it matters if we dont win.
Sid doesnt think we are favourites. There is a belief in spain that man utd might be too strong (not talented, but strong). But there is also a feeling it could be 50/50.
The presenter (bitter chelsea fan) says he hates the holier-than-thou attitude of fcb that we are going to make a great game, play wonderful football etc. Sid said spanish dont believe fcb have a divine-right as much as chelsea fans seem to think that is the case. In european championships there was a belief in the tiki-taka style of play. Going into euros there was a sense (particularly vs italy) that winning any other way is somehow illegitamte and perhaps in spain there is a failure to reaslise theres lots of ways to play and win.
Pep was in the 94 final. We went into milan game thinking we were favourites and got beat. So pep has been talking down our chances tonight and wants the team to go into the final tonight as underdogs.
When asked about pep's english ability, Sid said Pep is very very bright. He has been impressive in terms of how he has handled media. Almost everything he has said in the press has turned out to be true.
