Tonight's game was another example of Zidane being more and more exposed he's not that great manager. Apparently with each year the old guard of Ancelotti is declining. Zidane can be proud of Valverde and Vasquez's improvement, though, but beyond that I don't see anything positive at Madrid. Tuchel has done an immense job getting the best out of this Chelsea team. They were floundering under Lampard and at times were very easy to score against, now they look like one of the best sides in Europe with their talents being utilised correctly.

TBF, Rudiger/Christensen were memes not too long ago. Secondly, Chelsea fans were aching for the replacement of Azpi. They wanted Jorginho gone because he was a liability (he was). This has more to do with Tuchel revamping Chelsea's ability to defend as a unit than the individual players themselves. Like seriously, Christensen looked COMPLETELY out of depth under Sarri and Lampard. Now they're all effectively closing off channels, pressing like maniacs, and consistently intercepting passes.


Yeah sure they don't have slow pokes in their team, but this is Tuchel's work 95%.

Don't get me wrong , not trying to take anything away from Tuchel. The guy outclassed Zidane these 2 ties and had Pep in his backpocket in the cup final. Was mostly voicing my frustration on how we are focused on getting forwards while our backline is our biggest problem.

For me Chelsea are the favourites in the CL final

Anyone who has been following the EPL regularly for the past 5 years alongside other leagues knew this. The ones who didn't were either in denial, or barely watched the league at all. The "pace and power" of the premier league isn't a myth. Might've been in the old days, but today it certainly isn't. Daily reminder Chelsea might not even make top 4 this year!

Good comment. We need to learn from this. The better the manager, the more he can get out of the players, especially the young ones. If Lampard was the manager, they don't have any chance to make the final.
