This PSG plays pretty much like Barca with Messi in recent times. No team koherence and dependence on his goals (or Mbappes, when he does it). I'm pretty sure this will be continuous phenomena. Also their midfield is horrendous. Never understood what they were even trying to do. Veratti needs to put three shifts, because otherwise they basically have to go straight from defense to front 3. Nice goal though. Don't like these dudebros, but can't help and feel good for Messi, especially when it's such a golazo.
PSG plays like that ever since they got Neymar and Mbapp?. There was actually a moment when it seemed to flow pretty well, just at the beginning. PSG had even the highest scored goals in group stage if i remember. There was also a good period under Tuchel before the MU fiasco. I still remember that 2-1 win at home versus Liverpool; PSG had played like a team with less isolated players.
There was a problem with the fullbacks and now it is settled. We can see the impact with just that Hakimi run to open space for Messi goal. Small things but big consequences. Due to the imbalance in the forward lane, we still needed to sign one big midfielder. Thankfully, Verratti was back from injury yesterday because he is the most important player in that team. There is too much decrease in quality in the midfield when he is missing.
I don't have much hope those problems will be solved though. Emery failed but he is average anyway. Tuchel failed too. Pochettino who seems inferior doesn't have solutions either. We have just to accept that these guys don't match with each other. As a regular PSG watcher, it is always funny and surprising to see how those guys seem not to be acquainted with each other after so many years. You would wonder if they actually train together.
