Will never happen, but god would it shut up all those annoying Liverpool fans.....

Although you'll see the dumbasses here start comparing Klopp to Valverde and claim Ernie is better because he hasn't gotten eliminated in the CL Group Stages.

I'm genuinely just waiting for something to give in football. I refuse to believe we live in a world where Liverpool is THE side. This has to crash and burn to shut up the ever so persecuted gingers from the Merseyside.

Why would it never happen? RBS are a very good side, they will be at home and I am guessing it will be eastern European type of cold in December in mountainous Austria.

Liverpool have been riding their luck for a long time now, a crash landing is not out of the question.

Haha well said. It would certainly shut them up.

True and Salzburg seems to be on a good form. Also they can focus 100% on this game while Liverpool has the league to worry about.

I think it will be nasty game for Liverpool

Now Liverpool players and the manager must be dazed & confused and will be thinking: a) Why can't we deal with Napoli? b) Are Italian teams so good? Napoli are fucking 7th in Serie A! c) RBS gave us a big scare at Anfiend, who knows what they can do at their place? d) Have we run out of luck? e) We must maintain our run in the league, CL troubles should not be compounded! f) Too many games, can we keep this up?

RBS players and manager will be thinking: a) This is a dream! We may even take out the CL winners! b) Even if we lose, nobody will accuse us, let's just go for it.

My point is, all pressure is on Liverpool.

I agree with you. What I meant is that I don't see it happening. Liverpool have managed to salvage a draw or win so many times this season it's almost like they sold their souls to the devil for some short-term success. It's like Real Madrid 2016-17.

I can see RB Salzburg leading 2-1 and then Mané popping out of nowhere in the dying seconds of the game to draw it level.

They have clutch players, that can’t be disputed. I only don’t think they have as many of them as Madrid did during the B2B2B.

I bet my Liverpool fan friend a bottle of Auchentoshan that this time next week he’ll be a sulky bastard. He says there is more chance of Madrid not making it through than them. And he’s a somewhat more sensible soul. Which makes me think that if this overconfidence has deep roots, we’re in for a surprise.

Real Madrid are already through.

Liverpool's squad quality is nowhere near RM's in 16/17. That along with Barca 08/09 are the deepest rosters I've ever seen.

Why are them idiots on ESPN say that Liverpool need to lose with a two-goal margin in order to be eliminated? It does not make any sense.

Does anyone know the exact scenario for Liverpool to go out?

Only a loss? Or is it a loss and win/draw by Napoli?

I was be so happy if they got knocked out.

my understanding is that Red Bull must beat Liverpool and that Napoli gets at least a point. If those 2 criteria are met, then I think Liverpool go to Europa league.
