Watching the pace and physicality of Bayern, it's crazy to think that two top teams can be physically conditioned so differently. If we come up against them, we will get destroyed.

God, I hate this extremist views. You cant translate results from one game to another either.

Woah, City pretty big favourites tonight (to say it’s at Bernabeu) according to the bookies. You just know it won’t be that simple.

If I was a betting man I’d bet on Madrid purely based on odds.

City are always placed as top 3 favorites since Pep's first year. Still no SF to show for it.

We have a similar thing...among the top 3 favorites at the start of R of 16 despite Roma, Anfield.

The aura of 08-15 for us and 08-12 for Pep hasn't fully waned yet.

Undeserved.

While I agree that Bayern is younger/better conditioned, that's about the extent of the conclusions we can draw.

RM have been better than AM this season in their meetings (beat them 2 out of 3 games, 3rd tie) and AM beat Pool. Does that mean RM would beat Pool? Not necessarily. It could happen.

With a lineup of Ansu Griez Messi / Vidal Arthur FDJ / Alba Pique Umtiti Semedo / MATS, I would give us 40-60 chances against Bayern. Maybe even 50-50.

Chelsea were just atrocious and their starting lineup is abysmal. Still they had a few chances to score a couple.

My ranking (with best available players):

1) Pool
2) Bayern / Juve / Barca / RM / AM
3) Dortmund / PSG / City

The rest

^Yup, we have been undeserved CL favorites for a long time now. Evs misleading domestic results were one factor for that in the last 2 years.

Interestingly, I don't remember a single season in recent times where the biggest favorite during r16 won the cl

Given that we have no decent wingers and no pace anywhere on the team, it's not at all extremist to think that we'd get hammered away from home. I can see us pulling one over them at home of course, but nothing about how we played against Napoli is reassuring. While you can't make direct comparisons across games, it's the playstyles I'm comparing, and I don't think it's a good matchup.

Kroos benched. Modrić in. Vinicius and Isco to link up on the left. Basically same setup as vs Levante with Modrić moving up to RCAM and Vinicius slotting into Hazard role.

How many times did we think Bayern will trash RM and it didn't turn out like we predicted ? Who would have thought that we would beat Liverpool 3-0 in the semis last year ?

Those games are really hard to predict.

I'm probably 100% wrong but I believe that the battle between Messi and CR7 will dictate how this CL goes.

I don't think picking Jesus is necessarily a bad thing, they needed to be more direct nowadays without Sane and needed to inject some pace. Aguero played in lots of games and City still struggled so i dont think it makes any difference anyway. I still feel Phil foden should be given more chances tho.
