Klopp weakness has always been defensively strong managers counter attacking football generally has this issue against them just possession base teams weakness against the counter and defensive base teams against possession.

Ofcourse. Thats why pep's barca is greatest team of all times. There was NO ONE in the world better then them, not a single doubt from any associeted football person. Messi, xavi, iniesta, dani alves, henry, eto'o, puyol, busquets, pique. We had the absolute best players in the world in their area, bar couple of them who were amongst the very best. Guys like simeone are the misproduct from what mourinho has achieved against us in that period. We are responsible for development of this park the bus tactics because we were the team everyone wanted to beat but feared

As before, not exclusive to Ronaldo. He was instrumental in only 2 ties he played vs Atletico.

Surely you can't be 'not terrible' and 'useless' at the same time.

I'm fairly certain I recall some good saves against RM. Didn't he save a 1 on 1 in that 17/18 tie?

Jury's out on him as far as I'm concerned, but I do think he'll suffer from just being a different player that squad isn't really used to.

Yup. He was not bad against you.

He is not terrible in the sense that, while he still has a mistake in him, he won't necessarily cost you one goal by himself.

He is useless because he won't save you when needed.

Not a keeper for a top side.

Even Peps Barca that were the best ever were very fortunate to get past Chelsea in the semis bar a wonder strike from Iniesta and were one last ditch Masch tackle to going out against an average Arsenal side.

That is the two years they won it and went out to poor Chelsea side in 2012.

Very small margins at top level and that Barca were far better than the Real team that won three on trot.

Not that many keepers exist who would. Some keepers, like Keylor actually, would save you when needed but also carry a fair chance of cocking it up unexpectedly. Areola didn't get as much time investment, but seems in the same mould actually.

It can be also argued that Mou is a student of Italian defensive football and Fabio Capello especially considering how Capello's Milan destroyed Cruyff's elite Dream Team.
Defensive approach vs. more superior team+their attacking football have been already existing since the early stage of football history. Just like primitive version of total football has already existed way before Rinus Michels and his 70s Dutch/Ajax side. No ideas are original. Parking the bus is just a result/by-product of the evolution of defensive football vs. the evolution of attacking football.

Don’t see a lot wrong with those posts. They were underdogs and just excited about the win. Dunno...but it actually makes PSG look like a bunch of insecure bunch.

I'm not saying they were wrong. It was their right to be excited but then they expose themselves to be trolled about it. I agree about the fact that PSG players look insecure because they definitely are/were. Even Neymar cried after this game while he has already won the competition with Barça. Neymar who is not known to crumble under pressure. It shows that the atmosphere around PSG is a lot different and that they were very anxious about this game/tie. The last years have put fear in their minds. Even today, Dortmund was toothless and PSG shat the bed in second half.

I'm not exactly the type to enjoy this type of reaction from the players but if this was something important for them to give them a "fighting spirit" and qualify, i'm quite happy.

Just before the last goal, TAA got mad at Morata, because the corner wasn't taken quickly. Now that's what I call karma, bitch!:lol::lol:

And 'this is Anfield' goes back to its default settings, quiet like a mouse, and fans leaving before the final whistle. If this is the last game of football for a few months, it sure as hell couldn't have ended better, imagining that TAA/Morata bust up at the corner flag and Liverpool player faces throughout the match, especially TAA and Robertson, can get me through the whole summer without football.

With the way Leipzig and Atalanta are playing I won't be surprised if they'll be the surprise of the tournament, going all the way to the final and even winning it. I don't count on Barca or City winning it. City might as well bottle it against RM.

Some Michael Owen quotes after the game

"Teams across Europe will breathe a sigh of relief now Liverpool are out”

“Yes they’ve been beaten over two legs and knocked out of Europe but they’re the best team in Europe at the minute”

“Liverpool LITERALLY blew them away”

"Atletico players will be in the dressing saying, how good is that team we've just beat, we've never played anything like that."

Even Klopp is having a hard time losing.
In a german interview he complained quite a lot about how Atlético played too defensively.

But he acknowledged that he himself is a „shitty loser“ :)

I didnt say that pep invented total-football, he just took it to perfection and because of that park the bus system evolved, mourinho was claimed to be the best manager in the world because he was the antidote for barca, he 'knew' how to stop barca's firepower. I said that simeone is misproduct of that call it success. all the other things in the post i already mentioned.

What a match Liverpool -ATM !!

Very impressed by Liverpool.
Liverpool, as Owen said, LITERALLY blew them away.
But this is CL, 180 min. or more, not always the best team win. I remember Chelsea 2012.....

I really hope that we will never play and win by playing like ATM yesterday or Chelsea 2012.
