BBZ is the exception to the 3-4 year rule. We've had many great trolls on these forums.

They've all had their cycle but BBZ is eternal. From the days of arguing Pedro > Ney in 14-15 to a gargantuan level of hatred for Puig. He'll play the possession game (10,000 word posts compared to the average of 100 to clog up the page). He'll pump in those 100 crosses against the bus (the 100 useless stats he conjures up against those who want to protect sanity/logic). He'll switch tactics (narratives) on a dime. He'll have his favorites (those with coins) and his non-favorites. Il grandissimo BBZ.

The CL is too wild. Borussia M'Gladbach beats Shakhtar 10-0 in two matches...next round, Shakhtar beats Real Madrid 2-0. how does this happen!

I think a large part of it in this group is the Conte effect. He is an excellent coach when there isn't much pressure. As soon as there's some pressure, his squads completely fold. Against every big team they will bottle it and in KO stages you can count on them to screw up.

The fans' absence plays a huge part. It just seems that it's less to play for in terms of atmosphere. Fans help players to connect to the game better.

It can't help that games look like a training session.

you're definitely correct when it comes to Conte's squads in the CL...but that doesnt really explain how bizarre some of these results are between other teams

i think there's something to that. playing RM at valdebebas simply cant be as intimidating as playing them in a packed bernabeu. takes a bit of the pressure off

Salah is a bit of a moaner isn't he? He'd be absolutely slammed if he was 30+ and played for barca throwing his arms up like that about a teammate.

Permutations for RM group

I think I got this more or less right

RM are out on a loss next week in every scenario

- If Gladbach draw tonight:
1) they are only out if both RM and Shakhtar win next week.
2) Inter are out
3) Shakhtar draw vs Inter sees them through only if RM don't win
4) Shakhtar through on tiebreaker if they lose to Inter should Borussia beat RM
5) they can play out a draw with RM if Inter beats Shakhtar (somewhat unlikely as Inter will have nothing to play for, not even Europa)

- If Gladbach lose tonight:
1) Borussia are through on a draw vs RM but need Inter to beat Shakhtar (which would see RM out in 4th place and Shakhtar in Europa)
2) Borussia are through on a loss vs RM but need Shakhtar to draw Inter which would see them go through on a tiebreaker
3) Borussia are out on a loss to RM if Shakhtar beats inter
4) Borussia are out on loss to RM and Inter beats Shakhtar to get through on H2H vs Gladbach

- If BMU win tonight:
1) Inter are out
2) RM are through on a win vs Gladbach, unless Shakhtar beats Inter, in which case they are still out
3) RM can go through on a draw vs Gladbach but need Inter to beat Shakhtar
