If you really think that Real madrid's three consecutive cl wins were only luck you are stupid.

I dont think it was luck in 2017 because they looked the best team whoever they played but the other years they won matches not looking better than the opposition and the opposition creating and missing loads of chances

15/16 was an Europa league run but i dont think that As roma, Wolfsburg, City or atletico looked better than Real. 17/18 you could be right, bayern was way better than real but too stupid for scoring goals. In final they were lucky that salah was injured. 1/3 Cl wins.

Even as a diehard Bar?a fan I have to give Real credit.
They get the job done no matter what their form is or the situation.
Mentality is huge in the cl. HUGE.
Too often our club looks at technical skill as the be all end all. It's just one facet of the game. Bayern and Real are the most balanced when it comes to blending offense and defense.

Remember how many clear chances roma had at the bernebeu. I think salah had most of them. I can't remember exactly the wolfsburg game at the bernebeu but I think I remember them having chances to score that one goal they needed to finish the tie

Main difference between barca and real is that real doesnt need to be the best team in the world to win CL while barca can only win if they are by far the best team. 08/09 , 10/11 and 14/15 no team has come even close to barca. We had outplayed nearly every team.

real won first leg 2-0 so it was clear that roma will play offensive as fuck to score goals but yeah salah and dzeko had missed several of good chances and looking ob both legs the win was deserved. In madrid wolfsburg had chances to score 1-2 but real had also chances to score 5-6 goals. All in all i want to say that you dont win 4 cl's in 5 years just with luck like some users said.

Would people finally acknowledge that Zidane is a great coach if they win?

The questions about his coaching ability should have ended back in 2017, so since it didn't stop then there is no way it stops now.
People will find excuses for things that isn't convincing to them.

That's not it I think.
It's more that questions have changed and new ones are being asked, while people think the new ones are still the same ones as the old ones. Zidane can clearly do several things, is not a tactical pleb people make him out to be, but the main accusation is that it takes a while for him to do or try things that appear natural to a section of viewers i.e. binning the 4-3-3 when young wingers can't cope in most situations.

I think he could be a top level Fatih Terim.

I just think Zidane was such a great player that anything he does as a coach will be eclipsed by his achievements as a player.

No mate.
I know it sounds strange to question someone who was won 3 CLs and is on his way for a 4th one, but you can't just ignore the way he has won.

Yes, he is a great motivator, leader, psychological booster (you name it),
but I have been watching football since 1994 and I have never seen any other coach getting so many trophies so unconvincingly, undeservedly, and with huge luck.
That just blows your mind.

Of course, this can only happen in cup competitions, that's why the 2 LaLigas Zidane has won I think were both deserved and his team was better than its competitors even by small margin.
But here again we enter the CL obsession of most people here who think it's the pinnacle of trophies without acknowledging that most of the times it does not reward the best team.

He himself said he values La Liga trophy more than the CL.

About the Bald Shaman thing, he deserves coins for it imo. It inspires confidence to his players and even intimidates the opposition to some extent.

Call it wizardry, voodoo magic, happenstance, or freakish anomalies, Silversurfer sure knows how to pick the winning waves :surfing:

I am supporting PSG today for sure, but they will lose. Right now I am trying to think which team I want to lose if Bayern were to meet Real Madrid.
