He is not like Rakititc. Eriksen is a better player.
As a player he reminds me alot of Modric and Iniesta... just a bit more dangegous goalwise.

He would be a great sub/replacement for Iniesta.

Agree, Eriksen is much more an Iniesta type player than Rakitic.

He would be a great signing but Spurs wont sell so a non starter.

Spurs is becoming a more and more interesting club to play for. They are in the top of the league. They have alot of young players. And they are playing great football.
Eriksen is known to be very loyal towards his club, so I do not think that he will accept a Barca-offer this summer. I'm pretty sure that Barca is his dream club to play for, so the summer 2018 might be the right time.
Iniesta is still great... but he is not the amazing player he used to be. Eriksen is probably in the top 3 of best players to replace him.

Welcome!

I agree we could add quality to our midfield but you have to take into account that none of our midfielders in already stacked (numerically) midfield is leaving + Alena is bound to be promoted and we also have Samper to deal with.

Busquets
Roberto
Iniesta
Rakitic
Gomes
Rafinha
Denis
Alena
(Samper)

The central midfield is in danger of being very crowded next season, if both a midfielder is signed and Aleñá is promoted, and only Turan is sold. Roberto could be back in midfield, too. If only Gomes was never signed. It could become another mess of a position (excluding Iniesta) next season.

Only if a coach with a CLEAR philosophy regarding the midfield, with three players much tighter and much more internally involved than what we have seen post-Xavi (only see Eusebio in that regard of those available, tbh), then I see a signing like Verratti or Eriksen (both lying deep, choice between more control and more attacking danger) being of the utmost importance. Would prefer Isco over both if that wasn't even more impossible than Verratti (for now, before his contact runs out in 2018).

With Unzue or Valverde, it's less clear. Maybe physique is more important for those two, and then maybe Fabinho (or just no signing at all, just sell Arda and promote Aleñá) would fit them better. Only time will tell at this stage. One thing is for sure, it won't be cheap, and we also need a right back...

Eriksen would certainly improve the team, moreso than Coutinho I'd wager. Fantastic player and I think he'd shine even more in a system like ours. A midfield selection with Iniesta, Rakitic, Roberto, and Eriksen next year would be a huge upgrade over Rakitic, Iniesta, Denis, Gomes, etc. I do agree that it's not that realistic to pry him away from Spurs for anything less than an outrageous fee though, which is a shame. They're building their project though and I doubt they'd want to lose a player as crucial as Eriksen.

I agree. Eriksen would be great and big upgrade over what we have now. It would add so much depth to team as well. Now I don't feel comfortable whenever Gomes is starting or Denis.
