As we informed you on Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino is interested in bringing Rafinha to Tottenham Hotspur next season. The Brazilian, who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, is still waiting for the Italians to make a decision on his future. Inter had an option to make his move permanent for €35m but went back on their word as they're confident they can get Barcelona to reduce their asking price. The central midfielder isn't part of Ernesto Valverde's plans for next season so Barcelona could use him as a bargaining chip in their negotiations with Tottenham for Christian Eriksen.
The Dane, who is someone that interests Barcelona greatly, means that Spurs have moved ahead of Inter when it comes to Rafinha. At the moment the Italian side are only interested in an additional loan deal or Rafinha for a much lower fee than €35m. Neither option particularly appeals to Barcelona. It won't be easy for Barcelona as Eriksen renewed his contract at Spurs at the end of 2016 until 2020. This also came with a salary increase, taking him to £70,000 per week, as the Dane established himself as a key member of Tottenham's XI. In fact, the North London outfit are already working on another new deal for Eriksen after signing Harry Kane to improved terms a few days ago.
