Just a note about the rumored 15M fee: He was recently quoted saying that he's in no hurry to leave Amsterdam what so ever, and that he'll sign a new contract with Ajax if he doesn't get sold this summer to make sure he won't leave Ajax for free. That pretty much makes the only 1 year left of contract situation moot, as he's in no way trying to force a move, and will let Ajax dictate the price with them full well knowing that he'll sign an extension if their price isn't met.

Let's just see how long he will do that. I don't see him doing that 2 or 3 years in a row, but I might be wrong.

I've seen crazier prices being paid for players. Eriksen is a big talent. He now needs tot take that extra step and like you said be more dominant. I never said he was ready to leave Ajax, which I don't think he is. Just that 15M isn't that high. And have you ever thought that maybe Ajax don't want to sell? That's probably why they keep the price high.

Eriksen has only been in the starting eleven for what? 2,5 years now? Thats not very long. Vertonghen was 25 when he left ajax and was only consistent for the last 6 months. De Jong is 24 now. So you can't really compare them.

Free kicks aren't always straight at goal. Sometimes teammates can head them in you know.

Eriksen has played his 4th season already at Ajax, with the first one being around 20 games. So that makes it 3,5 seasons. Of course he is young and of course there are ones who left at age 23-26, but if Eriksen is such a bright talent most big clubs would be in bidding wars for him. And yeah I think he is a good player, but I don't see any big club being after him atm?

And about the free kicks; thanks! I always learn new stuff around here... ;)

^ They are not interested because he is not ready yet. Plus I think Liverpool, Tottenham, Dortmund etc. are quite big clubs.

Off topic, but what do you think about PSV's team next season. Seems very young to me. Too young?

With interest I meant trying to sign him. Only one really close to making a bid seemed to be Dortmund, but I guess they all think he is not ready yet yeah...

About PSV: Hate it that Strootman will leave, but with such an offer from AS Roma you can't refuse. 20M is an massive amount, hope they do something good. It is young, but that should not be the biggest problem. They should try to get a balanced squad. Attack and goal are already done in my opinion, midfield should be strenghtened with someone like Strootman to accompany Hiljemark behind Maher/Wijnaldum. Hopefully Narsingh recovers well :) Defence is the biggest problem, still need a LCB and a RB, badly! What do you think?

^ Also think defence is still your biggest problem. Don't think Rekik and Bruma are going to fix that. Don't really understand why you got Rekik on loan. Is he really better than Hendrix, who is the same age? I think you sold too many players. You are starting with almost a completely new team. Will be interesting to see how Cocu will do. Hoping he will do well, otherwise Eredivisie is going to be boring this year.

And yeah, 20M for Strootman is crazy. But lets not start that discussion again.

Eriksen confirmed he did not want to leave Ajax for the number 3 in germany: Bayer Leverkussen and also not for zentih st petersburg. According to him it is not much of a big step forward. He would rather sign a new contract and stay with Ajax if there would not be an absolute dream club. Now stated in Dutch media that according to several checked sources he is on the "shadow list" in Barcelona.

I hope we sign him... Xavi and Iniesta assisted by Cesc and backed up by Eriksen & Sergi would be just aboud enough regarding mid field strength

Eriksen building upon his pre-season freekick scoring streak, as he's just made it 1-0 away against AZ.

He's being linked with Tottenham today, btw.
