Man teams have tried to stop Barca with defensive play, and failed miserably.. It was Joses tactics that made Barca fail, it was not their players. He used wingers, so called wingers let's say who are strikers to defend, and completely neutralize your full backs. Also, he never marked any of your players, but it was zonal marking, and it was like hand ball, moving aroung, and no way to shoot.. If that is not good tactics, i don't know what it is.

Also, i agree it wasn't good looking for the eye, but still, it is effective, if you know HOW to develop that defensive game

We are still arguing about Inter's tactics or lack thereof a week after the fact? Shame, I thought we were over it.

As much as many of us (myself included) hate the "parking the bus" strategies, it still worked and Inter proved that.

Thank you.. I hate it as well, but it is the only way to stop barca of doing what they are best of, but you got to be good to do that effectivelly as we did...

Inter do not DESERVE to be in the final as they are not the best club in the world. If they would have played the same football they play week in week out in Italy they would have lost with at least 2 goals against us in the Camp Nou.

I disagree, I would say that winning is more important to most people (in any sport really) than entertaining fans. I am sure that Inter wasn't thinking about whether they were being "entertaining" enough when they decided to do what they did, nor would they have decided to change tactics for entertainment's sake, it would have been for the sake of winning if they thought it would help them.

I do agree though that a team who wins using that strategy isn't necessarily the best team in football.

I do have a different view. Any tactic is legitimate and the 'better' one if it leads to victory.

However, stating Mourinhos tactic was superior is just wrong. First of all they actually conceded two legit goals in Barcelona. Second this tactic would have been wrong if the 1st game would not have been influenced by misjudges of the referee and rightfully end 2-2.

Oh yeah, it definitely could have been an entirely different game altogether if the ref got everything right, then again they aren't perfect.

My different view was about your statement that Inter doesnt deserve to be in the final just for the style they play. Imo the one who wins (legitimately!!!) always deserves the win regardless what tactic they use.

It however wasnt the tactic that lead to Inters victory ...
