CL Quarter Final: Barca - PSG 1-4

Barca at this point would not be saved by premium coach like Pep. Lack of quality and at least as much institutionally in absolute toilet. Hence being absolutely irrelevant in Europe for a decade, with humiliating defeats left and right. Basically similar to Real in 00’s + when we were absolutely a joke, until we institutionally changed.

As for Iniesta and co. being miles above CR7 in talent, or Pique above Ramos, its absolutely absurd claim. Not to mention Xabi was premium midfielder, let alone later Modrić and Kroos.
Barcelona run circles around them and totally dominated La Liga. Except 2014 and 2017 and we know why, at least Lahoz was honest.
Alves and Inista had superior ball control and that thing matters in football, you get less effort for the same result. In cups you can get around that being only two games but in the long run you have little chances.
And in UCL Real was only inferior to Barcelona in terms of quality but they had CR7 who was fit while Suarez was a fat cat with no ability to head balls and win duels.

That's why RM wins La Liga this year, they can run circles around oponents while we need to work hard. Working hard is good if you have the quality if not is just frustrating.
We were better than PSG but our attack is absolutely inferior so we needed to work really hard and still failed.

The ref definitely could have been more emotionally intelligent especially after letting the game be very physical at the start.

But it was a red.

You just hate that a ref call decided such an important game.

You as delusional and insane as Xavi. Ref made proper call and you blaming him for being emotional making right call. You sound vaxxed and mk-ed.

You're welcome
I remember fucking screaming at the TV “step out, press the player with the ball - he has tons of space and time” and than they scored. This actually happened 2-3 times and they almost scored more because we were too lazy to press the player on the ball just outside our pk-area. What a bunch of bums. Aroju was atrocious even before his sending off, passing % of maybe 50?

Anyway, I'm fucking gutted - I can't remember last time I took a loss this bad. I got wasted, cried myself to sleep and called in sick today
We all did dawg

Just 2 things from me:

1. Araujo is extremly stupid, as Gundogan has pointed out. No matter how good he usually is and how many times he saved the team, but we lost this game and a possible final only because of him in the end. If you're not sure you can reach the ball, you let him through. He might miss, ter Stegen might save and even if it's a goal, the outcome is still way better than playing the whole game with one player less.
You only go all-in if it's near the end of the game, not during the start, especially a comfortable start like that. This stupidity is inexcusable on this level, as it costs the club much prestige and a lot of money in a serious situation, not to mention millions of fans are absolutely gutted.
In this very rare case, you can say he lost the CL run on his own.

2. The ref is simply put a piece of shit. Like Buffon once said, where a football heart should be, he has a trash can instead. Not even because he gave Araujo that red card, but because he didn't let VAR analyse the situation. If it's a 50/50 thing, VAR can't overrule you anymore. That's why you need to have the decency to let them check a game deciding moment, if it's not 100% clear and the foul wasn't that hard to be that clear. He can always let the VAR analyse, go to the monitor, watch the replay and then if he comes to the decision the situation is enough to decide a QF, then he can still send Araujo off. But this arrogant piece of garbage denied himself that possibility. Maybe he jerks off to pictures of him being the man on the field, I don't know. But he completely misses the sensitivity a ref needs to have in such games. Too much is on the lines in such games to let your shitty personality overrule the right, sensitive behaviour a situation like that needs.

WTF you on about. VAR operates on their own and intervenes when they see necessary. It's not pitch ref's job to ask for their help when he thinks he needs it.

Should have accepted defeat at the red card dawg.

It was over as soon as that hit.
It was blatantly obvious what was coming just 4-5 minutes after the red card... everyone looked just dead... very stupid decision from Araujo, even if he let Barcola past him and he scored, at 1:1 and with 11 on 11 we would still be the favorites... gutted that exactly PSG eliminated us and we could have easily reach the final in this bracket, but at the same time City would have spank us 5:0 in the final so...

To conclude it, you win by scoring goals.
Possession football gives less opportunities for others and more for you. This we did great before EV.

But having more oportunities doesn't equal winning.
Possession gives you less clear chances so you need to have a clutch attack. Fit, strong technical.

If that can't work, you have the ability to use possession as Real did in 2016-17 by crossing and spaming shots in the box to create chaos.
You will get probably something.

Now if your attack works, you just need to have a decent defense. This defense is decent enough, but our attack isn't really good. So we a possession team had to park the bus and we aren't that good. Even Simeone got hammered.
In general park the bus teams don't win often and need years and targeted transfers to perform so we were a bit too high on expectations.

Football is simple but playing simple football is hard for mediocre players( and fat cats are retired players hyped for their former actions). We need to be more ruthless. For most players prime equals 4-3 years. We had Busquets from 2009 to last season as fucking DM. We have an old Lewa who had his individual prime years at BVB then was more or less Suarez v2, great with level 2 defenders.
Bet we will get a fat cat Haland :))

And by the way don't be so sad, Barcelona is not about winning at any cost, it's not a tragedy if we don't win UCL. Barcelona should win 2 at best every 10 years given the ideology involved.
The goal is to create beautiful football and win, not only to win and that consumes resources.
Given our situation in finances we would probably need some time or a fucking genius on the bench.
You suffer because our kids do hype our team to death. Remember our best has 17 years and won nothing.
And by the way preparare for potential humiliations agaist Real and don't make too much of a drama. They really got lots of potential stars and Mbappe probably.
You can't defend that LOL
Neither Aruajo, neither Cubarsi, neither prime Maldini. You need to have big guns too to hurt them for a good defense to win you games. Like Chelsea did in 2012.

By the way I really got why Xavi uses players that I consider bums. I judge players from only 1 v 1 situations against top opponents. Xavi is doing it based on their abilities to respect tactics in training and training performances and all across the board games.
I watched our low intensity trainings, and some bums look prime R9 or Cafu. :))

The issue you guys dont understand being, how important was system in place. Specifically tiki taka. And even more so, it ended. Already with Mou beating Pep, who then ran to Munich, to get absolutely slaugthtered by Real.

You also dont understand that single most important trait that player can have is character / cognitive capacity, technical capacity and physical capacity. The reason why Iniesta was stellar, was because he was a complete package. Alves meanwhile was top tier RB due to insane physical attributes, while being technically inferior to Marcelo. Does it matter? No, because when discussing technical capacity, its usually nuance, and Alves had great ball mastery despite.

I mean, such bizzare arguments and all over the place. Who in their right mind would contest CR7, or Ramos, who was GOAT level modern CB. Fckin Pique, lol. Or use words such as inferior in case of that RM squad. Or pulling out Lahoz. Fckin hell. Totally delusional.

Barca needs to forget about 2008, ditch Laporta and zealots like Xavi, and modernise. Players like Pedri wont bring you success.

Dude, you just contradicted yourself in one post... I agree that I do not need trophies, I just want to watch our style of football... attacking, entertaining, if it works, great... if not, f*** it... but to compare the Chelsea 2012 sucess as a sign to our philosophy... I would be embarassed to win the Champions League this way

And by the way, Maldini would have eaten Mbappe alive...

Well direct matches were won by Pep just look at the scores from the season he runned. You won 2-1 us ? Pep runned from Rossell who started to put players above manager.

Well I will not comment some of your games in UCL because I am not a politician, but we are talking Barca vs Real not Ceferin and Perez vs some servents. 3 UCL's in a row is an impossible task even for perfect teams not -20 points in La Liga teams. Take Barca vs Inter, the ref gave Inter some help in key moments and that was it. In this regard I never questioned Real and I never claimed we are more big. We need to be actually insane to win.

Well saying CR7 had inferior ball control than Iniesta is not contesting, it's true. Saying Ramos had Lenglet moments also true.

RM was inferior no doubt, it was routed in La Liga and UCL by Barcelona, got humiliated many times even after the core started to become lazy. But the comparison was with Barcelona not Bayern or Juve.

And about that. You say we should become Real or Bayern because you think is not successful to be Barcelona. But we are Barcelona and for me tiki-taka is more important.
I can support Real if I want that, why should Barcelona change the identity for trophies when there are at least 10 teams that want to win it at any costand even 2 Barcelona clones?
I am not a Barcelona fan for trophies but for that obsolete style, for the identity and struggle. I will never support a clone of Real. I will start watching rugby

You miss read it. Our young fan base was hyping to death our defense against Real or PSG players.
The point was, only one defense managed to do it square and fair against a brilliant team and that was helped by a brilliant attack.
We have no briliant attack.
So the point is, we aren't going to stop anything we should stop hyping Cubarsi, Kounde and Aruajo and compare them with attackers. We should focus on having a briliant attack while keeping this decent defense. I don't want to be Chelsea 2012 but we did try it and failed for good reasons.

Isco has better ball mastery than CR7. So fckin what? Pique to Ramos is like Shakira to Aretha Franklin. Does that tell you how asinine your comment is?

Tiki Taka is dead. It has become inferior. While socio-culturally Barca has become all you can eat buffet for Laporta and co., who exploit it on daily basis while giving zero fck about Catalan identity.

Strikingly noticable how much better Madrid are defending than us, even when we were 11 men. Much more structured and disciplined, better at covering spaces and better at keeping them at bay.
