Hansi my dude. You're the man.

This was the match I wanted to win so bad, so so bad. I don't even care about the Classico. This is the one match that picks up after everything our club has lost for the last 6-7 years.

All our pains and doubtfulness are directly related to UCL and Bayern. After a decade of having a subpar team and coach, this was the moment, when we finally have a proper coach and a team that is playing well. I wanted us to win well. To show us, the team, and the world that we are back.

It's very easy to say and much harder to do, but try to look to the future mate. You can't change the past. This is an exciting young team that has a lot to look forward to.

Oh BTW I called it
Bayern comes out guns blazing in the first 20min. We have to be especially careful that time, and they do drop off around the 65th min.
The game will be defined by who can resist and counter each other's press.
Kompany's pressing system is quite aggressive, we need proper press resistant players in the middle. Pedri- Casado and Olmo.
My only fear is Pena while we are being pressed. I see him making mistakes and costing us dearly. I am more afraid of the press than the high line. Won't be surprised to see if he just boots it out most of the time.
With Musiala and Pavlovic out or not starting, their midfield is a bit worse than us, with Muller in CAM. Paulinha seems to be better when off the ball. And having Kimmich in DM means RB will be Guerreiro, their RB position will be a lot weaker.
Davies is an excellent player, but his kryptonite seems to be players who dribble and have that shimi shimi in them, exactly the player Yamal is.
Let's see how Kounde deals with Gnabry. He should be able to. But that's 50/50 for me.
Now the problem is Olise, and how we deal with him. Inverted winger and fast. I have faith in Inigo and Pedri. But lets see.

My starting lineup will have Olmo in it. Imo we need that midfield overload while having solid ball resistant players. But it looks like it will eather be Fermin or Ansu. 😬

If we can nullify their flanks we should be winning easily.
Those first 20min were actually insane. I think if he started Olmo we would have faired better, but Fermin did well afterward, abd was going to do well anyway,
They had about 61% of possession, so we really negated them with the press and didn't let them press us properly.

But the showboating after 4-1 and they kind of gave up for a period.. That was a smacking. Everyone doing party tricks. Pedri navigating through 4 players, Yamal terrorizing their left flank. Feels good!

By the way, an interesting fact that shows the development of both teams since the 8-2:

We started with 6 La-Masia boys yesterday, in total 9 (+Olmo, Fati, Gavi). Average age of the team was not reaching 25 years. Bayern had something around 30 years and I don't even know if they had apart from Kimmich one youth player on the field.
Yesterday was the result of the foundation the club started to build years ago. We finally have a young, hungry team again that plays with heart. In comparison to Bayern, who look like us 4 years back with old, saturated players.
A complete turn around since the 8-2.

What an unbelievable night

Bayern looked dangerous on occasions but a good part of 2nd half it was a ruthless humiliation on them. Their body language was screaming defeat and embarrassment.

The team's performance was magical. It's still hard to believe we could achieve these heights with this squad. Imagine if somebody last season told you we would play Bayern with Inigo Martinez, Casado, Inaki Pena, Raphinha, Lewandowski and other previously underwhelming or unproven leading the line. I guess most of us would predict a heavy defeat. But we experienced just the opposite.

I will forever be grateful to Flick for this, and I think most fans should. This is the best football we played in a long time. This was a historic night on Montjuic which won't be erased no matter if we drop our form or not.

The magic is doing it at Montjuic. Imagine it was at Camp Nou. Xavi could have never delivered that performance.
