No one serious enough can claim Benfica were the better team tonight. We had a midfielder playing out of position at LW, a RW that looks like he belongs at Barca B in third division and a CF that plays like he isn't even a footballer.

In two games we played vs them, they came out on top. Their offense is on a different level and I'd take their defense over us. Midfield we are better. That's about it.

IF Dembele and Fati are healthy we are probably better.

Benfica are a team that finished 3rd in Portugal last season and sit 3rd currently. They are not some great team who Barca should get smacked around by, they are a decent team but who aren't even the best in Portugal let alone a top team.

The performance was encouraging, in the sense that we have improved, not that Benfica is some giant. We need to continue improving and get back to a point where we can beat these teams routinely.

We can now go on and win the EL instead of getting drawn to PSG/City... or even being humiliated by Ajax

BTW, there is a good chance we, Atletico, Sevilla and Villarreal all go to EL, and when you add Sociedad and Betis we can have abother Copa del Rey

We were the better team tonight. If we had a striker or a forward that was half-decent we would win.

They obviously dominated us in Portugal, but we could have, should have won here. That last min chance they got was because we got desperate and someone missed their assignment and left Eric Garcia I think all alone.

Big take home of this game is that we needed a goal and had Coutinho, Luuk and Puig on the bench and Xavi didn't trust any. Probably the past 2 coaches would make all 3 of those changes (oh and Balde at AML for Sergi).

Let's hope we can get one key attacker in the winter market.

Tell that to Koeman who lost 0-3 to them.

Good point. Our bench is insanely short. ZERO options, while United subbed in today Rashford and Bruno.

Insane.

We lack in so many areas.

1. If we win against Bayern, we advance regardless of Benfica?s result against Kyiv.
2. If we draw against Bayern and Benfica draws against Kyiv, we advance.
3. If we lose against Bayern and Benfica draws or loses against Kyiv, we advance.

Point is, all hope isn?t lost. With Dembele and Ansu returning, a victory in Munich is possible. And even if we don?t win, the above mentioned scenarios see us advance. Benfica isn?t some great team either. They must perform too!

So, we qualify if we win, or Benfica doesn't win.
Well, on paper it is good but reality I don't see it at all

As a betting man I should know the odds, but I doubt they are great.

Kiev played well tonight though.
