CL | Round of 16 - 2nd Leg: FC Barcelona - Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 (6-5 agg.)

Horatio

You're welcome
Honestly, I don't think it's justified to say Barca played bad this game. They barely had any room to play football. Whole game took place on PSG's half. The only thing we could do well is reclaim the ball once we lost it, which we did. Other than that....we dropped the ball on some conversions, but as a team I don't think you can conclude this was a bad game.

Maybe you are right, but I simply cannot picture Bayern losing 4-0 to PSG, even if they have a bad night.

bayern have lost 0-4 to real at home, and don't forget the 0-3 at camp nou which should have been an even bigger blowout if neuer wasn't so good. real have lost 0-4 to us and 0-4 to atletico in recent memory. even top teams are capable of having an off night, the reason we never saw this under pep is because xavi and iniesta controlled the ball 70% or more in all games, even defeats.

Fair points right there, especially how Xavi-Iniesta protected us from big defeats even when we were at our most sluggish. Also, Bayern have the added weapon of Neuer, for as good as Ter Stegen is (crucial last night) Neuer is definitely better. So yes, I am not saying that Bayern are invulnerable, far from it, but I believe (and maybe I'm mistaken, I don't follow football as closely as I used to) that their GK, defense and midfield have an edge over us. Our front-3 of course are miles ahead to anything anyone else can even dream about.

I have read forums of some other teams.
Bayernzone and Juventus' forum are 90% posts how we won 90% because of the ref.

Uefalona this, Uefalona that.
Barcelona is horrible, we don't have a defense, we don't have a midfield, we even played bad yesterday and had a poor match, lol.

It's so sad, how when people are biased they write a total shit.

I mean, an awkward moment when fans of Real or Juve start to whine about ref's mistakes
Lel.

Dont mind them.

After this historic match ended, Barca has been considered the no. 1 team to win this year UCL by betting websites like William Hills. This means professionals already acknowledged Barca as the strongest team right now.

Current Barcelona didn't lose 0:4 to Psg.

That was a different team.
Which played dead and gone 433 with 3 old midfielders in Iniesta-Busi-Rakitic who were outran in midfield by majority of midtable La liga teams.
We were low on motivation, players were in horrible form (Neymar was abysmal for Months, Raki had problems with controlling the ball, Roberto was a RB).

Current 343 is a totally new formation.

For example, this is a new Barca, after we switched to 343:
Wins against Atletico, Sporting 6:1, Celta 5:0, Psg 6:1.
We scored 17 goals in the last 3 matches.

Coincidence? Not
1. a new formation 343
2. more midfielders, more control
3. motivated players
4. better form of individual players lately

I have seen many forums but I mostly saw people claiming that ref favored us but was not the sole reason for the comeback which isn't that wrong tbh.

Most people believe we played well and PSG played dogshit which is quite true. At least the sane ones like redcafe are of this thinking.

But if you go to bluemoon and other similar kinds of sites its cancer there.

So basically good community forums aren't spouting so much crap but some childish low id forums are, which is fine.

I used to watch every single minute of every single game we played for many years (plus watching much of playing time of our biggest rivals, especially Real Madrid and lots of EPL) but this is no longer the case, so I will take your word for it. It's definitely true what you are saying about Barca not being able anymore to play 4-3-3. Iniesta is past (my favorite player of all time, but it's the painful truth) it, even though he managed to basically assist 2 goals last night. Rakitic I think was never good enough for Barca's level (even though he is helpful at times) and Buscuits has always been somewhere between brilliant and frustrating for much of his career (for several seasons, he was mostly brilliant of course, but lately this has not been the case) So yes, adding Messi to the midfield was what I had in mind when I was watching our disastrous game in Paris a few weeks ago.

So, all in all, if our front three click from now on, and the 3-4-3 is as good as many on this forum think it is, maybe you are right and we are back at being the world's best. Because, noway Bayern, Real and Juve are invincible. They are great, but we can beat them if our final-stretch form is where it has to be.

I have read a few forums today (from different teams) to see reactions from different parts of the world and from different teams&fans, and on each there were biased guys and normal guys.
But Juve's forum left me in "wtf am I reading" mood.

If anyone is interested, read a few pages, their view on a match is quite "interesting":

this is arguably better. for a team that has won only 1 of their last 3 CL finals, and been thrown out 3 times in a row in the past semi-finals (two being borderline embarrassments), bayern fans are amongst the most arrogant i have ever seen.

also, bonus feature: DonAK doing God's work on the precious lot :lucho:
