Luis Enrique's post-match comments shows that Barca did not intentionally take their foot off the gas to conserve energy. Whether the players subconsciously became more complacent or whether Bayern pressured and attacked Barca a lot more in the second half, Bayern were better on the night. Don't understand what you get from denying this fact. It's not a big deal because the 2nd half performance probably won't be repeated again, but it did show other teams how to make Barca's defence uncomfortable - use the wings and a CF to lob the ball forward to.

I'm not denying Bayern was better on the night, but that was mostly in the 2nd half, when we took our foot off the gas as you put it. Arsenal was better than Bayern on the Allianz when they won 2-0 in 2013. That was because Bayern was pretty much already in the quarters. Such is the case here.

btw, in case you didn't notice, Bayern was the better team even in half 1, even if they were beaten twice on the counter due to horrible individual errors (again) committed by Schweinsteiger (mostly) and Bernat.

I totally disagree that other teams can learn something from Bayern's second half, and I believe that ppl shouldnt read too much into that second half. The tie was done and dusted.

Why do you talk about the second half? I thought that your defense looked pretty bad in the first half... - and if Bayern would have been more clinical it would not have been 1:2 at half time.

I'd say Bayern edged the first half too in terms of creating chances, but Barca were more clinical and Bayern were more dumb defensively. Take a look at the highlights here, ter Stegen made quite a few saves in the first half, including the double on Lewandowski.

First, Bayern played their best game since several weeks and had so many chances that it could have become really close. Second, you can hardly laugh at someone for being upset after his/her team got eliminated in the CL.
Actually Ryu is completely calm by his standards.

It's a bit ironic to see us, Barca, exploit the weakness of a high pressing, possession team. But nevertheless, solid performance in the 1st half, a few very inspired players made me comfortably enjoy my bear at half time

I think our 2nd half approach was the right decision, our physical resources are like water in the desert, must not waste if not completely necessary. On the other hand, our conservative, low intensity possession football we play when we want to kill off a game without stressing our players to much is obviously almost impossible to pull off against a team as strong as Bayern.

Honestly, going for blood would have been stupid & pointless. Credit to Bayern for fighting it out, their win is justified.

We should take this 2nd half and learn from it, as it exposed some problems, rather than be all arrogant about it... "you only won because we didn't care anymore", which is unfair.

Its very dangerous to take it easy against Germans, luckily the score was too big for Bayern too reach but they were always going to try no matter how many they had to score.

We can be happy though about the semi's overall and the situation we are in right now.

La liga : need one win against Atletico away/ depor at home
Copa: bilbao at home
Cl: in the final vs juve or real.

First two should be won, cl is 50/50 for me. Unexpected amazing season.
