Claudio Bravo

How many Bravo matches did you actually watch. Your line of reasoning is same as those who considered Valdes to be crap because of occassional blunder in high profile match. Or Busquets = worst diver evah because of Inter game.

Comparing Bravo's body of work in his time in Spain to elite players like Busquets and Valdes is absurd. His bad moments were frequent enough to be the norm, because he isnt a top player. Simple as that. If you had watched him yourself you wouldn't be trotting out selective statistics to suit your argument. There was nothing occasional about his poor ability with handling long shots, direct freekicks and passing poorly. It was like that since La Real returned to the first division. This is literally only place I have ever seen anyone rate Claudio Bravo as highly as some are attempting to here, apart from Santiago probably.

How many did you watch?
Very few so cant pass any judgement. From what I gather he's more than decent and I guess they saw something in him. He's now our player and it would be extremely stupid to deny him starting place under current circumstances. For the record, i hope Ter Stegen proves to be world beater and gets number one spot.

Some people here try to give impression they watched him countless times throwing empty phrases right and left. I clearly doubt they did.

I have watched many matches of him with Chile(qualifications for wc, copa america), and a few with la real. He is decent, average, and that's not good enough for Barça, is it? GK is a very important position, for the way Barça play. And why do you think people would say things without knowledge? zanela probably have watched him a lot, more than most here.

He's very suspect against long shots. If he plays the Clasico then he's gonna have a horrid time against Cristiano and Bale.

To be honest the only person who threw empty phrases was you trying to make him look better by saying he had the most saves in the last two seasons. An obvious sign of what you later confirmed, you hadn't watched him. Just so its clear Claudio Bravo isn't a player you tune into to a match to see, he just happened to be there being unremarkable with the more than occasional blunder(another empty phrase introduced by you, go figure) when ever you watched two of the more interesting sides playing attacking football in the last few years - Chile or Real Sociedad. If he was playing for Bolvia and Mallorca I probably wouldnt have seen him either but unfortunately I saw too many of his games in the Copa America and WCQ plus la liga matches plus his one foray into the champions league to ever be comfortable with him as Barca's number one.

I also think ter Stegen is a lot better but can you bench a GK who hasn't conceded in 4 games?

No you simply can't. Lucho is only 5 games in, he's got to play it smart and treat everyone equally. Favouring Ter Stegen would be totally unmerited.

From what I saw, he's comfortable with his feet, good distributor and very agile. From what I gathered, he's a very good keeper. His stats and the fact he's NT captain back it up.

On the other hand, there are few forum posters with unhealthy agenda against a player because apparently he isnt much of a shiny new toy they wanted. They happen to be experts who extensively study football and know the Truth about Barca being scammed with Bravo deal (although the club wanted him for a long time).

Right...

You're going way overboard here. Looks like you didn't care to read most of the posts here lately. And you just said that you've watched very few matches of him, but you're drawing a conclusion on him over the fact that stats back him(stats can be very misleading, it's basically rule #1 and zanela already quashed those stats claims of yours) and that he is a NT captain. Really?

Go figure.
