With tough games against Arsenal and All Boys still ahead, we can't afford to drop any points with only a handful of games left to go. Banfield and Godoy shouldn't be too tough.

1. Boca - 29
2. Tigre- 28
3. Newell's - 28
4. All Boys - 27
5. Arsenal de S - 25

Had a question, do they let the "hinchas" in with the fireworks? It looks cool and all but it did stop play for a bit.

That's a funny find on FB.

That was the coolest visual ever I rewound for my whole family to see that shit. Seriously, it was paid for in the end with 5 minutes stoppage. That's where my criticism of it stops cuz no other team has done anything that cool that I've seen. And the beginning of the match was so crazy :p

Yeah, it looks pretty cool with the streaks of colorful fireworks streaming out of the smoke and stands.

True. I think only in South America that craziness happens. Though I've seen kinda the same in Inter and Milan games but as close to the rabid frenzy of La Bombonera, nah nothing like it.

It's virtually impossible to see the play on the TV for the first minutes or two; even after a goal.

Che boludos, what a meltdown.

The bostero defense looked almost as bad as ours tonight, now Tigre and Arsenal have the advantage for the title.

Riquelme: “Nos ganaron merecidamente. Hay que felicitarlos. Ahora hay que descansar para el partido del jueves”.
Fancy way of saying "we were tired and got our asses handed to us". Cheers to Arsenal for that big win, but there is no one in their right mind who couldn't notice we just had no steam left. We shouldn't have started the same line up even though it was critical, Falcioni should have known better. There are plenty of suplentes waiting in line to start that Arsenal game every time. No excuses, we got destroyed badly.

It has to be said, that the controversy surrounding the team at the close of the season couldn't have come at a worse time. It plays into our lackluster performance in the Copa final and losing out in league. Here are just a few glimpses of the drama surrounding the team that I know about that affected things:

-Dario Cvatanich contract with Ajax that was publicized and stopped him from playing in Copa final
-Roncagglia arguments with Falcioni, and his signing with Fiorentina that kept him from playing in the final.
-JRR indecisive about future even before season was over.
-Schiavi trade rumors and uncertain about future at club.
-Mouche gossip and Europe trade rumors (all season long)

Just too much controversy to be surrounding a club that had so much to play for (and to an extent still do). I don't blame any player here, seeing as Argentina media I'm learning is far more controversial and work with far more "inside" information than do the big four leagues. It is good in a sense that fans get the most up to date information and bad when teams are unable to protect their players from gossip and slander during championship runs (sort of like Pep did during the sextuple).

It is Falcioni's job to keep media at bay, and although I think he has worked wonders in team confidence and enabled Boca to be genuine contenders in multiple tournaments, he could have done more to protect his players from the SA media who are sharks like Europe can't imagine. This lack of calm in the locker room affected play noticeably. It hurts because I know how much more Boca could have done this season but I guess "esas son las cosas de la vida".
