We were awful that year but it was more on Gaspart than him ,Also that was the worst part of his career with 2 absolute failures with Dutch NT & Barca ,If I remember correctly he had success in most of his career other than that time
Also his 1st stint with gr8 ,I've actually started rooting for the team during his tenure

Yes, and first and foremost, he 'made' players along the way wherever he went. I won't even bother to list the Ajax players who debuted under him; he gave VV, Xavi, the Don and Puyol (who he also made captain since he saw his leadership potential) their debut here. When he was with Bayern, he took Badstuber and Müller out of the reserve and converted Schweinsteiger, who was a winger at this point, into a dm where he excelled to world class level. Just to name a few examples.

Just curious, am I the only one still hoping Tata stays? I think stability is a really underrated reason for teams' success/failure, and I feel like going through 3 managers in as many seasons won't help anyone, I feel Tata can learn from his missteps and improve on them.

I don't think that keeping Tata would be right. It feels like he already lost the locker-room a few weeks ago. I don't know if this ''Xavi-meeting'' actually happened but if that's the case, then it shows that the players have too much influence on him. And the fact that he ''follows'' Xavi proves that he is not able to cope with such superstars.

Keeping Alexis out for the big matches is such a desaster IMO. I don't know wether it was his personal decision or some people told him that posession is the only thing which matters.

I'd love Roberto Martinez for next season. I think he also deserves it after his great performances with Everton. While, not having the most ''world class'' players in his hands, his tactics are surely the key to their great performances. Can't really say that about Tata in 2nd half of the season.

Nobody would've thought that Everton were signing an improvement on David Moyes, not a replacement.

To "feel" is fine, but when he alouds Alves to give 9-10 high crosses to 1.60 height messi each game, I have my doubts. Barca has all in all played a lot of awful football this season, we can thank valdes for the first half of the season. Our pressure is gone, the intensity isnt there, the passing is too slow. I dont say tata is a bad manager for Paraguay or whatever, but for Barca he has been a tragedy. Why is fabregas starting 8 matches in a row when he has played terrible in everyone? The crosses.....rotation.....the list keep going.

Trust me, the board needs to put off some pressure, so it makes perfectly sense to "blame" tata for their miserable Job.

Stability is important but only with the right manager. Were Milan more stable after giving Allegri several seasons? Will United benefit from giving Moyes several seasons?

Tata has lost he will to be here, he's lost the control of the players, and his style clashes with ours. Plus he's being tormented by the media. He should leave for himself just as much as for us.

Yup. He should be gone already after the loss against Atletico

There will of course always be exceptions, but as a rule of thumb I would stick with an old manager and hope that he adapts as opposed to picking a new manager and hope that he adapts. With Moyes for example, United have made progress, Mata and Kagawa have finally started linking up and United are beginning to cut down on the hoofball, now they just need to become good at it. Maybe it's just because I like Tata as a person, but I do feel that with a summer break and the chance to (hopefully) improve the squad as he sees fit and all that he can learn from his mistakes and adapt. But maybe that's the optimist in me, he has indeed been tormented by the media, I could see why he wouldn't want to continue in such a toxic environment. I just don't like cycling through managers and all the pressure that's involved and how the players have to adapt every time, especially with Valdes and Puyol both intending on leaving...

I never thought I'd be saying it, but Roberto Martinez is becoming more and more of an attractive candidate for me.

He had his team playing like animals out there today. He even changed his tactics and played a very counter attacking style today, it was really wonderful to watch.
