I mean for sure there were league or group games, where he missed and Madrid got the draw but if I'm thinking of players such as Messi or Griezmann recently, then both have missed absolute titlewinners whereas I can't remember when Ronaldo sctually did that and he must surely shoot the most of them. Hence why I find it a bit weird how people rip into pens here, those things are nerve-wrecking whereas Ronaldo is a seemingly safe bet. About the way he gets them: Getting fouled, teammates getting fouled, wrong calls, correct calls, like anyone else I suppose.

He did by no means fuck it up entirely, just missed out on an opportunity to climb into a more promising spot. That's looking in hindsight though. Portugal almost didn't qualify and a win over Iceland was really important and would have made qualification easier.

If Barcelona had beaten Chelsea in the game where Messi missed it, no one would remember that missed penalty.

Didn't the same thing happen last season? Ronaldo missed a penalty in a game and Real equalized? Otherwise they would have passed us in points? Not sure though...might be confusing it with a game that was played this season or they did end up winning it.

It has happened a couple of times now that he did that. Think twice against Valencia. The one you are thinking about is last season against Kameni and Malaga at the Rosaleda. Should've won them the game with that late penalty, but he choked. Game ended with a draw and we extended our lead even more.

I am not, mate, don't worry. I was rather pointing out the noticable ones. Those 2008 didn't loose the match iirc, which I meant, but I accept them anyway. 2012 is true, I forgot that, and 2015 was difficult since Barca would have had it in their hands anyway. Plus it was a pen at 2-0 down, noone knows if the additional goals had actually happened.

Dont try to rewrite history please, Messi missed a important one for Argentine, this year or last. Ronaldo also put away his important ones in this year. Some perspective is nice, both have scored or missed important penalties.

you should be saying that to yannick. i just provided the specific instances that he left out when making cristiano's case. in my post, i never said messi was the better penalty taker, in fact i was refuting yannick's claim that he would feel more secure with cristiano taking them.
