I don't think the era of Messi/Ronaldo winning the BD is over, give it another year perhaps. I can't wait to see someone else taking it though.

If you really look into his games he wasent that good in any of them.
Yes he scored 3 against Spain but he wasent that good in that game despite that, and DeGea was horrible.
He wasent really a part of the "play" in any game.
Hes a poacher nowadays and thats about it.
Not saying Messi was better becouse he was not, but Ronaldo havent shoned in this tournament either.
Ronaldo is better leader though, that i gotta admit, unless he looses his temper.

Time to shave off that ridiculous looking “goat” stubble on his chin now. Definitely was saving it up for a potential WC final to show how much of a douche he is. Wanted to rub it in Messi’s face after that Adidas GOAT advert, which we all could see in that celebration after one of his goals against Spain, but he failed miserably in the end. Some karma still exists in this world, it seems.

you can't really write off his perfomance vs Spain, he was amazing that game, more involved than ive seen him in a long long time. hes human afterall and that penalty miss was crucial. im so tired of this 'debate' and hopefully someone else can win the Ballon d'or, i think it would be fitting if both he and Leo end 5-5.

This probably isnt the last world cup for either though, Messi will only be 35 years next world cup, could still be a great playmaker at that age, and its not unheard of for a 35 year old to be playing.
Ronaldo will be 37, which sounds like alot, but really, Portugal doesnt have much quality up front and i dont expect great forwards suddenly appearing for them in the next 4 years either, Ronaldo could easily make the squad.

Both Messi and Ronaldo was outstanding Last season . Messi in La liga and Ronaldo in CL . Winning either of them is no joke . Messi almost did the unthinkable with te squad we had compared to Madrid's especially finishing 15 points above Madrid . He was Barcelona's creative and goal scoring output banging in 35 goals and providing 12 assists . Ronaldo was vital in being their target man putting in a shift to knock out Psg and Juve . Last penalty Real won against Juve was solely due to Ronaldo's giant leap to win that ball . If there is one player who deserves Ballon dor ahead of Messi and Ronaldo it's Luka Modric . He was insane in Cl and is doing a wonderful job for croatia . If he knocks out Spain ,he should win it
