A 33 year old Ronaldo is still better than 26 year old Neymar and by some distance. A lot less drama too.
I think Real would be better off keeping him.
Doesn't matter who is better now. Ney has at least 6 more years ahead of him, which is a deal-maker.
Neymar is only causing drama, because he's in free-for-all type organisation. I hate him, but we've suffered similar antics in the past and it didn't really matter to the board, so no surprise if they go for him just to balance the marketability once/if CR is moved on. Most of the team have subtly spoken out at some point about Neymar, usually the Brazillians lobbying, but Carvajal also said he'd welcome him, Modrić as well I think. And it's not like anybody here would suffer immaturity. He knows what he'd be signing up for.
Sky have been pretty shit with their sources in recent times.. hopefully it is legit though, Madrid are in big trouble with Neymar/Mbappe not being available. Hazard won't be enough
TalkSport suggesting Ronaldo to Juve ( £100 million ) and Mbappe to Real Madrid in final stages ( no fee mentioned ) ..
Mbappe has only just joined PSG TalkShit more like. if any big players from PSG is going to Madrid it'll be Neymar
Money talks ....
Mo Salah has just extended his contract with Liverpool a few days ago ..... do you think it means he won't leave over the coming months ??
My point is betting short term on Neymar makes no sense since CR is a better player.
Long term? There are a lot of questionable things about this guy's lifestyle, entourage and motives. Don't be surprised if he comes to Madrid and in 2-3 years he says 'It's a dream of mine to play in England' or some bogus like that.
Nobody really does that to Madrid. Not since transfer policies and team direction has changed. Players know what is expected and what they sign up for. The only way is down anyway, no use arguing this point.
PSG was a big step down from Barca (and every other top club that he could have left for) too. But that didn't matter to him.
It didn't seem to matter to Morata or James either.
If a player wants to leave Real or Barca, they will find a way out, regardless of what they initially signed up for.
None of the ones you mentioned left, because "it was their dream" as you put it. There's no leaving Barca or Madrid to fulfil your dreams. Leaving because you're not a starter - perfectly understandable. Leaving because you're not handed keys to the kingdom and you're not willing to wait until you're 28-30 and the other guy is 33-35 - also understandable for a guy like him.
100m euros for near enough 34-year-old? And that doesn't even include his 30m a year salary. Juventus have literally lost their mind. He's probably got 1 good year left in him.
they paid 90m for Higuain.. one of the biggest bottlers of all time so its not that outlandish. also Ronaldo isn't an ordinary player, in the Italian league he can probably preserve his career longer
