As to the content, for one RVN and Robben were not Perez transfers and the former is the only one worthy of the Galactico label. Robben, Sneijder, Robinho, you name it, these guys were not Galacticos. Even Cannavaro was a washed up, desperate attempt to try covering up the ridiculous defensive holes RM was known for. Calderon era were the times of damage control and lack of European representation that the club thrives on. If it weren't for the looming desire of Ronaldo to go to Spain and make it at the club he fitted like a glove, then we would not regain that status at all and would not make our way back to the top of Europe.

distefano actually gave his best years to madrid while cruyff gave his best to ajax, not barca. regardless, football is much tougher these days so messi and CR7 are superior to the former two for the respective clubs.

It all depends on the era you live in, doesnt it? I mean, its pretty much impossible for anyone to top Di Stefano for RM, when you look at what he ment for the club, his achievments with the club.
But then again, that was long before my time, i have no idea how Di Stefano would match up compared to Cristiano, if both played in the same era. So who is the greatest is really not something i can answer, but it has to be Di Stefano by default, doesnt it?
