Xavi was injured for 2006 CL and wasn't even a starter in 2015 were as Modric was pivotal in all 4 CL wins and had platinum performance in all finals . In 2014-15 he got injured and Madrid got knocked out by Juve

If Ronaldo was the most important player in that team , they would have lost to Bayern in semi final and wouldn't stand a chance against Liverpool's pressing in first half . Modric made the difference in both matches by holding together their midfield in final and Covering acres of space in rw because of Carvajal' injury .

Modric definitely was one of the main reason . Goals are not the only factor that you take in to account while judging what all made the difference in the end . If then what's the point of having midfield and defense . They aren't slaves Bayern (especially Ribery) would have slaughtered Vasquez if it wasn't for Modric covering him . You’re making point after point that aren’t necessarily valid. Playmakers are always the most important. Xavi and Leo were the two fundamental players followed by Andres. Xavi’s departure as an engine and a leader is the reason you didn’t win things in Europe which by proxy affects Leo’s record. Us having Modric as the primary guy and Ramos as captain were the reasons we did as well as we did. Ronaldo was never the full on MVP.
