By accolades (team + individual) and statistical output, this lad (as much as an egomaniac as he is which is a separate topic) is one of the first 5 names that come up in the GOAT tier. Others being Messi, Pele, Maradona, and Cruyff/Distefano. If you don't believe this in 2021, I don't know what to tell you.

I started giving CR7 his props after 2013-2014. Before that, he was a minnow basher and I used to dunk on him all the time. But since 2014, he's been bashing big teams in the CL...It's called being objective, dawg.

Carefully curated videos don't mean shit. You can selectively apply evidence to make either Messi or CR7 look amazing and the other terrible.
Here's what we do know.
Messi has been better H2H compared to CR7 in LL and CL games (more goals, more assists, more wins)
Messi has been the best league player in the strongest league in the world between 08 and 18.
Messi has been very good in the CL over his career (excellent from 08-15 and good but nothing special from 16 to 20 outside 18-19).
CR7 has been the best player in CL history over his career, especially in KO stages. He has ~70 KO goals while Messi has ~50 KO goals...and third place all time is somewhere around 25-30. CL KO dominance counts for a lot and CR7 basically makes up for Messi's superiority career wise in the other categories with this.
They're in the same tier. Which is the GOAT tier. Everything after that is preference. I prefer 10-11 and 14-15 Messi for instance as to me, that is the pinnacle of footballing ability.
Keep in mind the guy you are quoting changes his mind every day on who he believes the most overrated player of all time is.
