Who knows what he’ll end up on but currently it’s 5 goals with 60% of them being from penalties. No player in history has been gifted penalty opportunities at the perfect point in games like he has. Of course converting them is another matter but seeing as though the penalty conversion rate in general is 75-80% some credit should be given but not too much when considering these pens put him in the goat conversation (for some reason).

It's pretty much guaranteed he gets the ballon d'or if Portugal win it, but their path is quite hard now and he probably can't get it without winning the euros given the disasterclass with Juve.

He was pretty bad tonight but still, stood up when his country needed him for those penalties. Ballon d'or though? I doubt it, PR will be all in on Kante

I fancy them to beat Belgium and Italy at least. 50/50 if they play France in the semis. Spain and a potential final vs Germany/England/Netherlands will be a walk in the park.

Don't know. Mbappe's having a terrible tournament so far, done nothing of note. If France wins it, he might get the ballon d'or, but otherwise? If a nation like Italy wins it, can see it going to the best player of the euros which has been Ronaldo thus far. Things could change, but with how they're now, I'd say he's the favorite atm.

Think Kante will win it if france wins as he has already won CL. Media would push him.

Say, if France win it, with Mbappe not doing much, and considering his team lost the league to freakin Lille, he may not be much of a favorite.

But neither would Ronaldo, who's club team also was terrible.

If Ronaldo finishes this tournament as the best player, think he's the favorite to win it.

Can't give an award for the best player to Kante of all people.

They gave it to Modric in 18, who had good/decent performances, but im not even sure he was the best player for Croatia.

The narrative was set after Argentine game, and cemented with reaching the final, media hype can do strange things.

France gets into the final with a typical Kante all-over-the-pitch performance, it could happen.
