Hes not the player he used to be but this is just hyperbole. His touch is still excellent and hes still a competent passer (obviously not a world class playmaker). Hes been Portugals best attacker this tournament while others like Jota and Fernandes have been crap. Hes got one of the highest average match ratings in the tournament.

He has a high match rating because he scored. Take away that and you have many better than him in open play. His play is abysmal these days. Tapinado and Penaldo indeed. Gotta say he is a lucky guy. He may made a pact with the devil, wouldn't put that posibility away in his case. 700+ goals, i think around 600 of them are tap ins and penalties.Sigh.

He cannot dribble, cannot pass, has a poor touch, screws up attack, yet... He scores penalties and tap-ins.

He can't, that is why he is not comparable to Messi, Messi is special kind of genius...but he scores all those tap-ins because he attacks the box, runs inside like mad man, Messi never does that. I don't judge player solely on goals but everyone objective must appreciate this tremendous drive CR has.

To do what he is doing at the age of 36 man...

Stunning.

What does he do at 36 years old? Scores tap ins and penalties? Lose titles with a team that won 9 years before that? Being eliminated by Porto in CL second round? Yeah,he is great. The greatest goalscorer. Because the greatest player, he'll never be that, even if he'll score 1000 goals more.

Portugal with 3 penalties already, Fernandes in shambles.

No one would be talking about him having a bad tournament if he was sitting on 3 penalty goals right now.

Scoring nearly 42 goals in 52 apps this year and being top scorer at he Euro.

Scores tap ins and penalties?

He's been doing that through his entire career.

Losing a league title after 9 consecutive years of winning it is nothing to be shamed about.

Also eliminated by Porto in a competition that he is indisputably, by a large distance, the greatest player to ever play in that competition and has among the most trophy wins (including a 3peat) and top scorer of all time.

Stunning player.

Does no one look at the quality of a player anymore? Only numbers and that s it? Sad lil' world we livin'. Also, did he won those trophies alone at Real Madrid? When he didn't had Kroos, Marcelo and Modric besides him, i can see how much success he had at Juve. A lot of Cl's. Yes, he was a stunning player. Now he is only a Tapinaldo Penaldo merchant that has cringe celebrations because he scores goals that even a 10 year old would.

What is this even supposed to mean lol.

He didn't win those trophies alone but Real Madrid would never have won those trophies without Ronaldo's goals.

Also if it's so easy to do what he's doing at 36 years old, how come no one else can do it?

I have a question for you. If Haaland for example will score more goals than Ronaldo until he hangs up his boots, will you consider him better than Ronaldo? Because you seem to overlook how genuinely uninspiring Ronaldo is in open play? Are you really this is in awe over a player that scored 3 penalties and 2 tap ins? Than i am sorry for you man.

If his goal from open play against Hungary is a tap in, what isn't a tap in?

He wouldn't be better unless he wins more than CR7.

CR7 has one of the greatest trophy cabinets and resumes in the history of football. And he achieved all of that while being the main man on every single team that he played on.

Compilation of his game yesterday is honestly a 3/10 without the pens, stunningly shite. Takes no responsibility at all, just waiting on the shoulder of the last man and thats it. I watched the whole game, of course, but didnt think he was THAT bad live.
