You are trying too hard.

They won 4 of 5 with Ronaldo and then won one with largely different team four years later.

It has absolutely no impact on his legacy bar some desperate Messi fan boys trying to find something in it.

The MOTM in final, the player who made goal and player who scored it.. none of them in Ronaldos side that won.

He was absolutely as vital now as he was a a couple months back.

His past season is credit to him at that age to still be performing at that level.

Don't really see what Messi fanboying has to do with this. CR is a better player in the CL than Messi and he has had better longevity/fitness so far than Messi.

But CR has been exposed for not being absolutely vital to RM's CL success. I know it, Ronaldo knows it, Perez knows it, and hopefully you know it now too.

Ronaldo won three CLs in a row.

In same time frame of three years after he left... not one CL final appearance and two last 16 exits.

That is closer to same team than four year later.

By that argument could say he didnt receive enough credit at time.

You are desperately trying too hard. No one with any sense bar Messi fan boys think like you do about him being 'exposed'

Messi fanboys are worse than Ronaldo lot at times.

You made a shit point and now trying to troll as been educated on it.

Work done on this one. Im oot.

Benzema now is a totally different player and was never as important back then.

Can say exact same about Messi... players who were massively important get forgotten a bit.

Happens all the time with star players getting most of credit.. but Ronaldo earned it. He is top CL player ever.

I very much doubt you would have been accepting for past three seasons prior to this when Real were struggling in CL with team more similar to the one Ronaldo meant much.

If anything with the team more similar to one Ronaldo was in they were eliminated in last 16 twice in 3 years of CL after he won 3 in a row with them and 4 in 5 years.

Were you claiming in those three years Ronaldo deserves more credit for Reals CL wins than got at time? Doubt it.

Works both ways.

Benzema was a phenomenal player for Lyon and was very highly rated youth with good goal scoring numbers. Didn't expect he would be this good post Ronaldo, but he did have this in him in the few Lyon games I saw.

As for RM's past failures post Ronaldo, RM needed a bit of a retool to compensate for losing a great player. But they pulled it off and became champions again, with the biggest reason being for having that experienced core group of players from the 3peat.

Apart from Courtois the core was largely the same.

It absolutely shows that he was less crucial to RM CL succes then he thinks he is.

He still puts up numbers but only because teams have to built around him, play to his strengths but at the same time those teams become worse for it.

Its not a shit point. If someone is regarded as the best player on a championship team, and then that same core group of players without the best/star player wins another title, it obviously dampens the legacy of the star player. His supporting cast got the job done without him.

Obviously not a 3peat, but still champs without Ronaldo. Legacy dampened.

This has also become a talking point, so much that "everyone" has accepted it as the truth.

Juventus become no better without him, if anything, arguably worse.
"Ronaldo is holding Dybala and Morata back from achieving their full potential", guess what, Morata has always been average, while Dybala is up and down, and has injury struggles, yet "everyone" blamed all of Juventus problems on Ronaldo last season.

When will this meme ever die?

Apart from Courtois, three of back four, two important mids that impacted every tie and two of front three... aye apart from all those team was similar.

In reality when Real were more similar to the one Ronaldo played in they had two last 16 exits in CL and didnt make a final in the three years after they won three in row with him.

In the comparison of before and after Ronaldo.. his legacy is enhanced when break it down like that.

Breaking news... Ronaldinho has now been found to be exposed as not as crucial as he thought to Barcas 2006 CL win as they won another three years after he left.

Hazard exposed at Chelsea as they won CL after he left.

Folk so desperate trying to find new angles.

Calma Messi fanboys.

Ronaldinho was replaced by a much better player than him in Messi.

Hazard did get exposed. He has done nothing at Madrid while Chelsea constructed a winning squad without him.

Not really the best examples to use for your argument......

No? Hazard was fantastic at Chelsea, him being a bum at RM doesn't change that.

Again, recency bias is borderline retarded.

It wont because its not a meme, clearly Man U were better in 2020-21 then this season.
Juventus after a rough start were just as good if not better then the previous season.

RM core was the midfield trio of Modrid - Kroos - Casemiro and Benzema they are still there and clearly still a force to be reckoned with in the CL

Lmao!

As far as United goes, they were nothing special 20/21 either, look at the context.

It is a meme, simple as that.
