Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

The most important record is the la liga all time scoring record. Its hard to see anyone surpass him if he stays in Barca into his thirties. Dont care if cr7 takes the cl record - he is 29 and how many times has he won the tournament? One time. Messi conquered Santiago with the best goal in cl history in 2011, messi beat United in 2008, 2011. He beat Arsenal alone. I cant see cr7 has done something similar. Let him have his hattrick-penalties and tap Ins. He Will never be best.

Maybe I am wrong to feel this way, but messi was part of the reason why I started watching football again back in 2009, I had never seen anyone like him. So yes, I am biased. And I would never claim that he won by himself and so on, but he played a huge part, like guardiola said: "we couldnt have done it without him". Further, I fail to see that Ronaldo has done anything like that, united, real, Arsenal, messi showed no mercy.

another franco follower in the house.

Wow..this forum has so many stupid people. Ronaldo can score against every team, thats not my opinion its a Fact!..being barca and messi fan doesnt change reality..bayern is the best team atm, its also a fact, since they won cl last season and still seem to be top, nevertheless they are beatable..so please tell me what makes me exactly a "franco follower"??..im usually a polite guy but you are just stupid.

You are very negative about Messi. I smell a Madrista.

He can have the record as long as they dont win the trophy. Without the trophy it counts for very little.

You sir are also not the brightest candle on the cake..my post was an answer to someone who wanted to downtalk ronaldos efforts in goalscoring..saying ronaldo is lucky to play against schalke in cl and therefor being able to break messis record is just fanboybullshit..as i mentioned the season in which messi made his 14 goals we played at this state of cl against leverkusen, which is also a german team and not worldclass where he made 5 goals in 1 game...being a fan of barca and messi does not have to make you an idiot my friend..so grow up and wash ur glasses..+criticising messi when he played lazy and not good makes you a madridista?..sorry but you dont deserve my attention little kid.

You have a sarcastic tone - which I like;) I also agree that messi should be critizied if he acts lazy on the field, his history dosent make him a god every match. Concerning cl-matches, it is also fair to bring in the rest of the matches that year, and the overall level of the opponents. Most important, remember that we are talking goals, not assists, contribution, goal rate per shot and so on. Even though Ronaldo scores more, he isnt neccessary playing better than messi.

The CL record for most goals scored during one season is a great record to have for any player. Ronaldo deserves credit for this IMO. Had some luck with the draws, but impressive season in Europe for him nonetheless.

The record is still not his, though. If they draw Bayern, I honestly can't see him breaking it. At best, he will equal it.

He is very capable of scoring against Bayern. Bayern defense is the weakest link of the Bayern machine.

I am not too worried about Ronaldo breaking this record. Messi is still relatively young, if he wants and tries hard enough he can still reach and break that record, I think.

If Pep starts Javi and Schweini as CDM's and Lahm as RB like he should, I don't see them conceding many goals.

He scored twice vs bayern in the 2011-2012 season when they had a better defense than now, so clearly he can

To some people, ronaldo is the reason they are watching football especially in my country, so your first argument doesnt make sense. It is a team thing so, i would like to add that without xavi, without iniesta we wouldnt have won the competitions
