Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

I don't expect you were

It's a foul and a pen i don't disagree, but it's a foul that happens in every penalty box of every corner and is never given, time and time i've seen it before, and again after countless of times. Just so happened to be a penalty on that occasion. Not cool

Messi did score 2 important goals in UCL finals, though. And that awesome goal against rm, in the semis, all by himself.

After his man marker got sent off in Pepe, wonderful goal though, can't remember if the sending off was deserved

God damn, if this isn't enough motivation for Leo to up his game, then I don't know what is. Sadly, I don't think he hates Ronaldo like we do. :p

The second goal against real away is the best in cl history. Hugely underrated. His goal against Arsenal was nominated that year. Look at the close control, the touches, pure genius, never seen anything like it. I value that more than the goal vs . getafe.

Oh man I stopped coming to this thread because it never changed

Yes he had a poor final & the over the top celebration for a goal that wouldn't make a difference had everything to do with the Stadium he was in & lost the Euro final in 2004 than anything but at least you lot know that he was injured for several weeks & didn't complete a single full training day all week until the game!! he was clearly not fit & it could have ended like Diego Costa as well .. he was simply used as decoy to keep Atletico defenders at bay
Jesus Christ you lot been throwing Messi was injured every bad game despite the fact that he was back from injury like 3-4 month ago... how about someone who was injured for several weeks & was pulled out early the game he started... you all do know that don't ya ?
Yet he was the best player in this year CL season , scoring 17 goals in 13 games breaking a new record and a game back from injury can't take that away from him ... end of story

Amazing justifications. How do you know his over the top celebration had something to do with that stadium?

And his knee injury? Exactly how bad was it? Amazing that you compared it to Messi's injury which put him out for more than two months. Says who he hasn't had a full training day until yesterday?

FYI, Messi was lambasted by many Cules after every single poor performance. One thing Messi would not do is to celebrate like he single-handedly change the outcome of the game, as if he was the king of the world in an occasion like yesterday's.

Bottom line, Ronaldo is a great player, but not likeable at all. SO full of it.

It was all over the news last week regarding the stadium .. not a big secret neither is Ronaldo walking out early every training season this week , avoiding even some shooting exercises ... including the Friday training.. I mean you really have to be living in your own bubble if you didn't come by that news anywhere in the last 8 days
I didn't compare injuries . i compared how it was overlooked that he was given the green light before the game while used as an excuse in Messi case all the time since his injury ...

And who said anything about likeability ? who even cares ? it's not a popularity contest .. you are making stuff up as you go along aren't you ?

Bubble? Geez, not everyone is a Madridista like you who pays attention to every single thing happening to Ronaldo and Real Madrid, sorry. So if the game wasn't held at that stadium in Lisbon, he would not have pulled such an over the top celebration? Because we felt he vindicated himself by scoring a penalty at that stadium or something?

I agree, Ronaldo should be cut some slack for having a subpar performance yesterday, but hey, how many times has he done that this season even when he was healthy? Being invisible all game long and BAM, scoring an easy goal or a penalty? Sure, Messi has his fair share of that. But the criticism was NOT about his subpar performance, it was about his celebration GIVEN his subpar performance as if he scored a game winning goal or had a game of his life performance. Obviously it was all about Cristiano Ronaldo, first and foremost.

That's why he is not likeable. If you have problem with that, simply ignore this thread.

if you don't follow the news why do you argue for the sake of arguing ? It's ok that you don't give a damn about a player i do that but i don't go debating about that player & his condition talking like you do without the slightest information ..
I don't know if the game wasn't held in Lisbon what would he do .. you'd have to ask him i simply put the note for those who ask why because this was reported as Ronaldo first heartbreak as a player losing the final in his city in front of his home crowd against the underdogs Greece and yesterday came close to doing so again . I mean he didn't even do that when he scored his first meaningful goal vs Barca in the CDR final 3 years ago... it was an excessive celebration and for a reason

Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine ... there is no easy goals , when your team (not just you any team ) lose points because someone with talent was slacking off in his tap in or header you'd want a player like Ronaldo or like Inzaghi .. somewhere outthere teams lose trophies because someone can't be in the right spot at the right time and put that goal in .. show me a player with 100 % games all season ? not even Suarez or Ibra or Di Maria or Messi ..it's normal to have subpar performance over 50 games but scoring even when you are bad is what make Ronaldo contribution positive for the team overall ... just FYI

I don't care about his likeability at all , nor i argue his case of X vs Y or who is better , who is more talented (Messi in the current generation as i said many times here ) that's all pointless time wasted . a player contribution on the pitch is what matter to my team not how many rival team fans like him or what he wear , do outside the game & training time ... if you want to argue his likeability please do so with someone who cares about how many people like X or Y .. i only care about how many goals this or that player scored for my team
