Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Greatest of all Time!

The only reason he has less trophies than Messi is because Barca >>>>>>>> Real Madrid. The one season Madrid was actually better as a team, Barca were trophyless while Madrid won Copa and Champions League.

Also, a moment of silence for those who thought Messi would end as the top Champions League goalscorer :rofl1:

I know you are a Ronaldo fan footy, but this is still trolling.

Its also pretty amazing how he is able to carry his athletic ability into his 30's, going all out 60 matches a year for 90 minutes with barely any injuries or his age catching up like it does to any player that relies on athleticism when they are around 30.
Im honestly interested in his diet and recovery program. It takes a lot of discipline to eat around 4/5k daily, hit your goals, avoid injuries and to the same boring work outs day after day for hours straight.

He's the Djokovic/Lebron James of football. He's simply an android.

The first line maybe, but that's the only possible trolling part.

Well, sure, the Barca of 2009-2012 was the best team in the world, and even considered the best club team in the history of football by some.

Messi is 2 years younger than Ronaldo so theoretically he could still catch up to Ronaldo with regard to CL top scorer.

This guy and messi on the same team would have been massive. Treble every season.
Messi providing throughballs, ronaldo scoring them

You are overrating his performance, he dissapeared in plenty of games, padded his statts vs small teams while being ghost vs a left table team.
But he is being clutch when it matters like vs us and today and the way you remember his season is exactly how the majority of people willas well in hindsight.

Lol I didn't say he has been an amazing performer through the season. I said he has been scoring consistently and leading madrid ls season it's hard to deny that.

Nope. Ronaldo owes more to Messi than vice versa. CR's obsession/rivalry made him reach heights he would not have otherwise. Messi's only marginally better than he wouldve been. If they played together Ronaldo wouldn't have been anywhere near as good.

The interesting thing with with him is that all it takes is a spurt of goal scoring form and the unstoppable narrative resurfaces. People will gloss over the invisible games and all that matters is total goals. You see it time and time again for the last 4 years and will probably see him be in contention for awards till he retires even if 30 come against Espanyol and Malmö .

Personally, I think Messi showed much more in the last season vs City even though he didn't score a single goal, then Ronaldo did tonight vs. Wolfsburg. Sometimes you just need a luck. Ronaldo had it tonight, but I'll also admit he has done everything in his power to grab that luck.

In the end it is not the number of nutmegs and dribbles that matters.
It is rather delivering goals and assists.
Being barca fans we overemphasize passes, dribbles, linkups
There are other ways of playing too.
Not every player needs to be a dribbler or passer to be among the best

The only reason why Messi didn't score in that game was luck and Joe Hart. Performance wise, he's was 3 class above then Ronaldo in any game. Probably the only game I seen that one player had such a huge influence.

Big night for him. There is not much more you can ask for when a single player scores all necessary goals for your team to go through. In the end this lousy Real team is in the freaking semis of the CL after losing the first tie in the quarters with 0:2. If they get City, they will probably reach the final...

But you need to influence the result. Take your chances
